r/Invisalign

Guys I’m tireeeeed
My first round was 64 weeks long, first round of refinements was 18 weeks but now my third round is 32 weeks long.
I’m currently wearing the trays in the middle and those last trays are from what I have in my box.
Guys I’m tired. My ortho is a perfectionist and is making small changes to my teeth and bite at this point. No he’s not billing me extra for it, I finish paying everything this month but now my treatment is set to end in December.
Has anyone had such a long journey for aligners?
This is my x-ray 2 months post-Invisalign, wearing retainers currently. Do my wisdom teeth need to come out?
I was having issues with night-time only wear so I went back and they told me to wear retainers for longer and gradually decrease wear time until I get back to night time only. I mentioned I hadn’t had my wisdom teeth out yet and wasn’t sure if that had anything to do with the discomfort I was having with night-time only wear, so that prompted the Ortho to do an x-ray. I’m 22. They aren’t causing me any pain that I know of, but my Ortho says they are impacted and sent a referral to a surgeon. I’m conflicted on if I should do it or not, because I read online some people regret it.
2.5 years and I’m finally done!!!
At this point I feel like braces would have been a better call because I only needed them for 6-12 months, but I’m done!! Very happy with the end result :)
Done after 17 months (3 rounds with 20 trays each)
Three weeks ago I made a post about having the bootstrap method done on my problem-tooth. It ended up being very effective and now I'm done with Invisalign. My teeth aren't perfect, I feel like I could have probably done one more refinement for my bottom teeth. When you stare at your teeth so much however you tend to get overly critical, so I don't even know what to think anymore.
I hate my ortho. Today after 17 months of treatment he peeked into my mouth for 3 seconds and said "done, remove all the attachments. Next week your retainer will arive, keep wearing it for a month as before, bye" and left. He has had zero time and never explained anything to me. He could have at least asked me if I agree with being done. I'm so happy I don't have to see that guy anymore.
2 pictures from bad treatment!
Take heed and be careful who is touching your teeth because although Your crooked teeth may cause some functional issues it can get a whole lot worse that’s for sure lol!
composite bonding on both upper laterals exhibit one - when your dentist tries to cover up poor Invisalign results with composite bonding which I didn’t really want but felt forced due to my requests for refinements being repeatedly ignored. Bearing in mind half way through treatment crowns were mentioned too (red flags).
exhibit two - the poor Invisalign position I was being told was acceptable lol and now 3 months later I’m in constant pain and have no option but to let my teeth do what they want due to disputing my dentist, they look worse than before treatment due to IPR food impaction and a whole load of other issues.
question though! Is anyone else's two front teeth abnormally large? im thinking if I have Macrodontia but im not really sure if any one else has this issue
Finished - should I have done refinements?
Big difference but I think my mind is picking small things out. I originally opted out of refinements- was tired of Invisalign lol.
Starting to question my decision now. Not sure if I should see if I can do refinements/ more bonding or just call it here.
My bite is off after invisalign
I had surgery for my underbite. Since then, I’ve been wearing invisalign for 2 years. I’ll see my orthodontist in few weeks for refinement and evaluation, but my bite is still off. The only thing Invisalign has improved for me is straighten my teeth (although they’re still slanted) and improve overcrowding issues. I don’t know if invisalign can work for me anymore - I wore it for the past year to correct my bite but it barely did anything.
For specific work reasons, I don’t want and also don’t have the time to use braces. Is it something that can be cosmetically improved through veneers or bonding?
No retainers!
I had my braces removed on March 24. And I have NOT worn retainers since then!! I know I should, and I will,.. but I unfortunately misplaced them so I’m still waiting for my new retainers.
But based on these 3 photos, do you see any difference or shifting??
I actually feel like there’s mild shifting but not entirely obvious. They still look straight in person.
Can I get invisalign without extraction for my teeth
I would like to avoid extraction at all costs but i do want invisalign.
Also:
if i stay consistent how long will it take for these teeth to straighten ?
approximate cost in india?
Retainer question
I’ve completed my invisalign treatment and have been doing just the retainers at night for about 2 years now. Recently i’ve not been able to wear them every night and it’s been about 2 weeks where i haven’t worn them at all. I can’t tell if my retainers still fit or not. I do have some pressure when wearing them which i figured my teeth probably shifted some due to lack of wearing the retainers. Should i still continue trying this retainer at night until i get used to them again or do i need to see my orthodontist to possibly get resized?
How can I afford this? Can I take out loans?
I had braces when I was 13-16 but long story short my dad boiled my retainers (on purpose lol) and my teeth shifted. Not toooo much but enough that my bottom teeth are crooked and my smile got narrower. I’m 21 and I don’t work many hours weekly. How can I possibly afford this?
Only in 11 months!
I had a cross-bite and severe crowding. What do you guys think? :))
Smile
Picture 1 is genuinely laughing,
while picture 2 is a more normal laugh. It is all natural. do I need to do anything about the gummy smile?
white stuff on my aligners
whats the white stuff on my aligners? it goes away when i scrub hard with just a toothbrush and water but putting it in my ultrasonic cleaner doesnt do much.. i only notice it after i take if off from wearing it overnight
Am I a good candidate for Invisalign?
I’m a 26F who never had braces. I had crooked teeth growing up and they sort of naturally (almost) straightened out as I got older. I didn’t really pay much attention to my teeth because they never really aesthetically bothered me, however, due to some recent stress, I think I have started developing TMJ and it’s made me a bit more aware of the possible issues with my teeth. From what I could research, I think I have overjet, overbite, some crowding, and possibly narrow palates. At this stage in my life, the thought of braces is just not practical for me. Would I be a good candidate for Invisalign? Is there anything I should know before seeing an ortho? Anyone with similar issues had success with Invisalign? And how long did it take?
trying to correct open bite
i’ve been on invisalign for about 16 months now (just made my last payment) and my last appointment is in 2.5 months. i’m wearing them for 2 weeks instead of 1 but i guess im not at the point they thought i’d be by now.. i’m getting told that i may need braces if the bite isn’t fixed but i’m not sure i want to start braces bc i’ll have to pay for that as well.
my ortho told me i would need rubber bands to probably force my teeth to move but i’m wondering if i can get rubber bands for my invisalign instead? they didn’t tell me about this kind of option but I only know about it after doing research. what do you guys think the best course of action would be?

What a difference a 5 tray difference can make.
Invisalign in your 30's
I have been insecure about my smile my entire life. Do you know how sad that is? I'm insecure about showing signs of happiness... and I'm sure many of you can relate
I was bullied for my teeth as a kid and past partners have made comments that will probably stick with me forever. At an Invisalign consult the receptionist said "you're really pretty, you just need to fix your teeth" which made me feel even more insecure
I usually hate meeting/talking to new people because I know that my imperfect teeth are very noticeable. But I also am on a self-love journey and am trying to tell myself that my teeth do not define who I am or make me an ugly/bad person
I was supposed to get braces when I was in elementary school but like a typical child, I didn't want to. And my parents didn't push back
So I've been looking into Invisalign (instead of braces) this past little while simply because they're less noticeable. It's really expensive and I know it's also a very uncomfortable journey. And it's not as invisible as people think because of the attachments... so it comes with it's own set of insecurities
I'm curious if anyone has experience with orthodontic work in their 30's and if it truly helped their confidence. I've been debating if it's really worth it... or if I should just learn to accept my wonky teeth
But today an orthodontist showed me what my teeth will look like after treatment and what my smile would look like, and it convinced me... so I put a deposit down!
I'm definitely still nervous, but it'll be worth it... right?
Does this look like a normal bite? (10 months into a 18 month treatment)
So I went in for my orthodontic appointment today after being out of the state for three months (just increased the time in between trays to make them last the amount of time I needed, though I still have one more tray to go in this set since I wanted to save one for while I am waiting for my next set of trays) and my orthodontist surprised me by saying that she thought my teeth looked good and that I could finish treatment early. She handed me a mirror and asked if I liked how they looked (I am getting treatment for a somewhat mild open bite, so that was what I was looking at). I told her at the time that I thought it looked fine and signed some papers to get my retainer ordered.
My concern is that there may still be some issues with my bite and I wanted to reach out to see if I could get some insight from others who have finished their Invisalign treatment to see if my bite is "normal". I feel like there is still a little too much of a gap between my front upper and lower teeth. There appears to be a slight gap at the top of my front upper teeth, though I'm not too concerned with this. I also noticed spacing between my teeth when I look at them from the sides, again, not sure if this is normal or not. I just went in today, so I figured that I could call them back if I noticed any issues at home.
I asked about over-corrected trays, as my dental hygienist who used to work in an orthodontist office recommended them, though my current orthodontist said that they rarely use them and didn't think that I needed them. They also ordered my retainer based on the scan they did today (on my 11th out of 12th tray) and I am concerned that it may undo any additional (though probably small) progress that will be made by tray 12. Is that normal?
