How can I make a sealable vent hole in this gas can? I dont want to get a new one but this one sucks for pouring gas.

I have this old gas can that doesnt have a vent and I don't want to throw it away just because it's missing a tiny stupid vent hole. I know i can just buy a brand new gas can that comes with a vent for like $10 but it just seems like a waste. It takes forever to pour the gas out compared to the second picture one with the vent on the handle. I was thinking I could drill a hole in the handle then plug it with something when I store it, but I don't know what I can use. What would you guys suggest to plug the hole after I drill a vent hole that I won't lose?

First time propagating. 2 weeks pothos clippings, all are rooting! There is this jelly slime looking stuff around all the roots. Is that normal?

I change water every 4 days. Ive been using a 1 gallon distilled water bottle and I put a very very low dose of fertilizer. People said distilled/fertilizer wouldn't work but it seems to be working I think. Unless this slime stuff is not good.

One other question as well... How long should the roots get before I plant in with the mother plant in soil and pot? They are single pothos leaf clippings

Need help understanding what is a good amount of light, explained to a plant noob.

Hey so I'm new to house plants. I dont have experience with this stuff so please explain like im 5.

Im mainly wondering about natural sunlight, not grow lights and mainly about duration. What is considered a LOT of direct sunlight? 12 hours is obviously tons of light, but what about 2 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours? If for an extreme example my plant gets 8 hours of direct sun light, and then in darkness for the rest of the day, is that considered good light?

What if my plant gets 8 hours of bright indirect light, then very little light for the rest of the day?

I have a plant thats under a skylight window that gets tons of bright indirect light for the morning and most of the afternoon but then once the sun goes past a certain spot it basically gets no light. Is that good for the plant still? Does it mind to only get like 6-8 hours of good quality light a day?

Same with some other plants. I have a small window that gets very bright afternoon direct sunlight for like 6 hours in the day, but besides that it basically gets no light due to the angle of the window. Is that good enough?

What about a big window that gets 4 hours of direct evening sunset light, but not much light besides that? Is that bad lighting?

My house is just terribly positioned so the sun hits the windows for periods of time and then not much light all the other times because of the angle of the windows and positioning.

Uhhhh, is this allowed? Lmao. Freeze dried skittles in Canadian Compliments candy.

This is a new freeze dried candy from Compliments, which is a Sobeys grocery store home brand. These are straight up freeze dried skittles in the bag lol..... Compliments just freeze drying Skittles and labelling it as their own I guess 😂 I don't see any mention of skittles or mars on the packaging. I don't think it's a collab or anything. Weird.

I'm struggling very hard to find cheaper 4x8 sheets of 1/4" plywood for my subfloor. Can I use Meranti plywood? Thats all I can seem to find thats reasonably priced.

Title. https://kent.ca/en/1-4-x-4-x-8-meranti-plywood-1015821 Can I use this?

Is Meranti plywood fine for glue down vinyl plank underlayment? I live rural so I dont have access to big stores like home depot. There is a home depot far from me but they wont deliver.

A store near me recommended Meranti for my application. Would Meranti plywood work for glue down? The only other options are sanded Birch and Oak 4x8 sheets but those are 3x the price. Im using the 1/4" ply on my whole main floor so that would be a lot of extra money.

What stores do you guys find your plant pots at? I check a few stores but feel like I'm missing some good ones.

I'm Canadian. I check Homesense, Winners, a local nursery store, Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Walmart, but I feel like I'm missing some spots that sell pots. Where do you all find nice plant pots? Doesnt matter if they have drainage holes or not.

I also check FB marketplace for used ones. Trying to find more places that sell pots because I'm very picky and cant find what im looking for ever.

Anyone know what's going on with my aglaonema? Small black dots under side, this leaf is getting a little yellow around the edges

anyone know what's going on with my aglaonema? several leaves have the small black dots but this is the only one yellowing around the edges. the leaf tip drying I assume is humidity, very dry in my house over winter, a few leaves got dried tips but for the most part all the leaves look pretty healthy. I water once every 3 weeks or so, let the soil dry completely. it gets a lot of sun under a skylight, light meter is like 200-800 foot candles

zero visible pests or bugs on the plant. Ive carefully inspected all the leaves.

Been reusing this plastic protein container for 4 years to store my rice! Perfectly fits a full bag of Costco rice.

I wash it between refills of rice. store a little scoop inside as well. seals nicely and very big. I like reusing plastic containers when I can.
