From "Plant Killer" to Water Gardener—thanks to the kindness of my neighbors! 🌿

I've always had a black thumb, but I didn't want to give up on my love for greenery. I reached out to my local community for water propagation cuttings, and look at this mini garden now! No more soil, no more dead plants (hopefully). Just pure gratitude.

Waiting for secondary roots ..?

Hi! I've been water propping this Aglaonema for ... at least 6 months now? I've lost track of the total time but it's been a while. I've been waiting for secondary roots to form, because I've always heard that is when they are ready to be transplanted. This plant however has not given me secondary roots lol. Should I keep waiting or transplant her so she can finally get some nutrients?

Who’d of thunk

I received these two Burroughs tails in a plastic grocery bag on Christmas Eve. This is my first time propagating succulents of any type. I never knew they would bloom—-As you can see, they are growing quite well. Thinking of moving them to a terracotta pot…

Is this ready for soil?

Is this ready for soil?

It has sat in water for about 2 1/2 months. Cane begonia. If so, what type of soil should I put it in first for the best chance of success? Thank you!

Brand new - need advice

im new on the propagation hobby and wanted to make sure this wasn't something I needed to be fighting.

this was the 3 days after the last trimming of the brown. I have started swapping the water after learning that was important on this sub.

is this a problem? is there something I need to be doing to prevent the browning?

When to transplant to soil?

Hello people of r/propagation! I cut this piece off my larger pothos plant some time ago (maybe like fourish weeks?) and it has since started sprouting some roots! I, however, am not sure what signs to look for in terms of when to know it’s ready/strong enough to transplant into soil with the larger pothos plant. Additionally, are there any signs to look out for to know if it’s been in the water for too long and will no longer survive in soil?

For reference, the longest roots are currently about 4-6 inches long

Any help y’all can offer would be immensely appreciated. Thank you in advance!

What size pot?

I was gifted this dumb cane propagation with very long roots. I bought tropical potting mix and a few different sizes of pots but I keep second guessing what size to use as it is my first time potting a propagation and I don’t want to mess it up. Any advice?

Is it too late to plant in soil after water roots start forming?

Got lazy, left

Some cuttings in water and roots started forming. Small ones. Is it too late to transfer to soil? Should I wait for secondary roots?
