Hi all!
I rescued these Aglaonema plants from B&Q, got them to give them to me for a couple of pounds each about 4 months ago. They looked in pretty poor shape (I have before photos if anyone is interested 😅).
The one in the first picture had some mild root rot so I changed its soil, cleaned and pruned the roots basically from the get go. It has survived admirably and is now stable enough that it’s putting out new growth. The problem is that as you can see the variegation on the leaves is very faded and some of them still have some damage on them. I could cut off all the damaged ones but I feel that the plant will eventually look very leggy. So I was wondering whether to chop the plant where I have marked (3rd photo) and propagate the top portion. I’m nervous though as I’ve never propped an Aglaonema before. Do you think propping it is a good idea or would just pruning back the leaves be better? If anyone has any better suggestions I’d love to hear them! 😊🩵
And as a bonus, if anyone can help me identify this survivor and its fellow rescue (last 2 pictures) I’d be really grateful! 😊🩵
Thanks in advance for any insight you can offer! Hope you all have a really awesome day! 💚
It has a generic ‘indoor infants’ tag and I can’t tell if it’s a juvenile aglaonema or dieffenbachia!
I’ve been growing this Mojo Red from tissue culture and it is taking absolutely FOREVER. Any advice to get the growth to kick in? The best bit only has about a one inch root after months of incubation. This is about six months of growth. The leaves are beautiful and healthy. The roots and base are in perfect condition. I’m stumped!
Any suggestions?
I got this white joy about 3 weeks ago and everything was going well until it developed a brownish stain on her biggest leaf. I then checked and around it, there was like a grayish color. I started looking other leafs and some of them have very small brown dots and a few have very tiny greyish areas like the ones from the pictures.
Im quite new to plants and have no idea what this is. Does anybody know what they are and how to fix them?
What's going on with my aglaonema? The two plants seem to be leaning, and the bottom leaves are looking dull. This plant sits in a southeast facing window, but we have LOTS of trees out back so the sunshine isn't the strongest.
I know that aglaonemas like to dry out between waterings, but could this be from underwatering?
I'm a college student and this is mine. the thing is. it was going nicely for 9 months but now suddenly all of the leaves started drooping and all four yellow ones in the picture have now fallen. it has a very green stem tho and the green leaf looks so dried
I have a money plant and a lucky bamboo too
never had much luck with this. the leaves were always too dull and now it's dying
please help!!!
She has 2 healthy leaves and 2 that are going under.
She used to thrive but now I am convinced she has root rot. Should i just cut her and put her in water and hope she grows healthy roots?
She has been in water since like January lol. The roots grew so slowly. Is she ready now tho?
how much do they like to dry out in between watering?
anyone know what's going on with my aglaonema? several leaves have the small black dots but this is the only one yellowing around the edges. the leaf tip drying I assume is humidity, very dry in my house over winter, a few leaves got dried tips but for the most part all the leaves look pretty healthy. I water once every 3 weeks or so, let the soil dry completely. it gets a lot of sun under a skylight, light meter is like 200-800 foot candles
zero visible pests or bugs on the plant. Ive carefully inspected all the leaves.
Is this too much light?
I noticed my aglaonema leaves fade over time. You can see the newer lears are darker in colour. is this normal or should I move them somewhere with lower light?
I got this from a friend who also wasn't sure what variety she was. She had a bit of an accident previously and fell out of his passenger seat but is recovering nicely.
Hi all!
I just bought this Aglaonema, at a hefty discount because she had a few broken leaves (which I have cut off) and some with some brown edges. In spite of the damaged leaves, she spoke to me, especially when I saw how hard she was trying to stay alive, with loads of new growth (see third picture).
However since I bought her at a garden center they helpfully label all their Aglaonema as “mix”. I’ve been doing research to try to find out the specific variety but I am still unsure, would anyone know a bit better than me what she is?
Any help or thoughts are appreciated! 😊
Have a lovely day!
My aglaonema has been in this plastic pot for 4 months.
