I dunno what genre of DNB to call this but OMFG this crushes for me. Looking for others to checkout with similar vibes?

I primarily listen to house with some interest in niche DnB and dubstep/downtempo. When mixing house a lot of the tracks have vocals. I'm a total newb still and i'm often fading up with the vocals and it just doesn't sound great having these low level vocals come in maybe in the middle of their line when you can really start to hear it. Any tips?

I get a lot of print failures from bad first layers. With the mk4 out now is there a simple upgrade path from the pinda probes on my mk3s?

Silly but I've been over thinking this (I have some anxiety). Was vibing in a boiler room last weekend. At one point I closed my eyes for a second. I'm a man. And I felt someone grab my shoulder pretty firmly and squeeze. I popped my eyes open and a guy a bit in front of me had been the one who touched me and he just kinda gave me a nod. I dunno what that was supposed to mean? Was I bothering them? ​​

Went to a local renegade rave last night. God bless the djs but theres been a lot of talk about how people don't like the music. As I'm learning to dj from an outsider perspective (I'm not in the local scene playing the same stuff and learning with all the other locals) it seems like 1. They kinda just have crap taste. And 2 they seem to keep everything in a chorus. It never feels like a track starts and ends it just feels up the whole time. I've been doing my mixing bringing in the intros and letting tracks run most of their lengths. Today I messed around trying to mix chorus to chorus and never let the intros play or really outros most of the time either. This does seem like an easier way to mix where the transitions are quick and easy during a phrase change. But the intensity seems draining. After 5hrs of nonstop up I think people are wanting some flow and variety to the beats?

But as I said to someone. "Is it that I have terrible taste and that's why I don't like this? Or do they have terrible taste?"

Give me your opinions here?

I'm house hunting in Reno Nevada. Ive had my mind set on looking for a mid century home. I love the unique designs and bigger lot sizes on these older homes vs tract housing where it's all cookie cutter and homes are usually built to within a few feet of the edges of the lots. HOWEVER I'm a single middle aged guy. I can't afford a remodeled mid century. So I've been looking at approx 700k homes that will need a lot of remodeling. Now I plan to take my time with that. A little here. And little there as long as it's livable. BUT I recently looked at a very nice late 90s tract home. Interior is fantastically updated. Lot is long which is nice. Big backyard. It is narrow with close neighbors on the sides. But it just got me wondering. Am I really sure what I'm signing up for with a mid century place that needs everything? Of course I love the idea of what it could eventually be. But the reality of living that road with the old house that constantly needs something vs a 90s build that needs mostly nothing. Just looking for any opinions or thoughts on others that have been down this road? ​

Using my beat match buttons for awhile, and now I wanna loop a section and start changing the tempo to move to some faster tracks. I've turned off the beat sync and i start moving the slider, i can see the little orange numbers moving but the track tempo stays stuck. SOMETIMES if I wiggle the slider it will suddenly start moving the tempo, sometimes i can't get it to move at all. Whats up? Flx4 rekordbox

I've been dj'ing at home for about 6 months. Just building up a library of a few genres and practicing phrasing. I can beatmatch with the beatmatch button or by hand with the platters. 90% of the time all I do is bring up fader on the next track, swap the bass, and then fade out the first track. Sometimes i'll loop the beginning or end of a track for a bit. Sometimes i'll use colorfx during the swap. But thats it.

What other skills do I need to be able to play for small groups of friends and people? Or is that basic skill set enough?

Total newb here. I'm in video production for a living but have basically no experience vjing. What gear should I look at for vj on a budget for our local renegade rave scene? I'll never get paid anything for this. Just wanna do it for fun. What should I look at? Midi pad? Software? Projector or lcd? Etc

Nothing about tariffs was mentioned when I placed my order. Like 3 months after I received it I got an email saying I owed hundreds extra for tariffs? Just today I received another email saying my account is overdue? All other tariffs I ever paid were to the shipping company, not the retailer. At this point isn't this their problem?

I've been practicing djing at home for a few months using my desktop and a flx4 deck. I'm going to a small event this June (few hundred people) and want to try my first time playing in public. I'm trying to get in touch with the folks that dj it to see if I can play a set sometime when the crowd is light. I see a lot of big fancy decks out there. If it's something like that how hard will it be for me to jump on and Use? At this point I do nothing but super basic transitions with some occasional looping. Is this idea feasible?

First onewheel picked up a used pint. I'm just getting used to it around my street. Just pulled it off the charger and did a few laps and at higher speed I was getting the pushback warning vibe thing. Is this because its in redwood? I figured in beginner mode it has plenty of torque not to nose dive?

I have two OWC gemini two bay raids. I have had issues with both in 4yrs or so of ownership. I just had an issue with my second raid. It is setup as Raid 1 mirrored. I was working on a project folder all week. i woke up yesterday and the folder was gone. I restarted the drive and my mac and the drive wouldn't mount. I ended up using disk drill to recover all my files and transfer to another drive. Now what should I do with this drive?

My softraid is expired but I never really used it? Might it have helped in this scenario? I have now reset the Raid1 and initialized the disks and everything looks to be working. Can I trust this drive?

Key markers aren't quite on the bass, phrasing is a few beats off. Is there a way to correct this? happens enough to need to ask about a solution?

I work in video production, I always run Raid1 even though its slower the idea being if a drive fails I can pull them out, pop one into a direct connection and pull the data off. Well today my OWC Gemini failed, A folder I had been working on the last few days was gone. I ejected the raid, then depowered, repowered, remounted. Folder was still gone. I rebooted my mac and then I couldn't get the raid to mount again. Eventually I pulled the drives and put them into an identical Gemini enclosure also set to raid1. It wouldn't mount there either. So I set the raid mode to JBOD. It then asked me to initialize both drives. I stopped there and did not initialize. Is there any chance of getting the data off these drives now?

I've just had a second OWC gemini raid fail. I had been running raid1 for mirroring and for the first time ever it looks like I lost EVERYTHING on those drives (in the past i've been able to pull one drive and plug it in direct and recover the data, this time neither drive will mount anywhere).

I need to order a replacement raid, I need like 10+gb of usable space in raid mode. Is G-raid the place to go now?

I have an OWC gemini raid, running on OSX. The raid was set to Raid 1 mirroring. Today I opened the raid and couldn't find a folder I had been working on, it was just gone. I tried resetting the raid, then I reset the computer. Now the raid won't mount at all. I pulled the drives and put them into a second OWC gemini raid enclosure I have, they also wouldn't mount. So I set the raid type to individual trying to get the drive to mount at all, now osx is saying the drives need to be initialized.

I just ordered a single sata external drive mount to try mounting them without the raid controller. But am I already screwed here? I've done this in the past where one drive failed in a mirrored raid and I could just plugin the surviving drive and pull the data I needed. But i've Ive lost two mirrored drives here this will be a major fail.
