This girl was from my previous school and she eventually dm'ed me on instagram and we've been talkin for maybe one and a half weeks.
I'd always thought that she was pretty. From the reels she liked, I'd found that we had similar interests (movies, shows, other hobbies) and more importantly that our politics and values were similar.
To my surprise, when i asked her if she was a homophobic (in an unserious conversation), she said she lowkey was.
She said that she doesnt 'like or agree' with it.
When i asked if she viewed people of the lgbtq community as equals and a group who she respects as herself, all she said was 'i guess'.
I tried my best to argue that that people are born that way and that gender is just another dating preference but she wldnt budge and said she doesnt think her opinion will change. This comes even after i asked her if shes willing to hear a different viewpoint and she said yes.
My breaking point was when she asked 'why are you so pressed about this though'. She really thinks that this is just a simple matter, similar to that of the question 'whats your favourite food'.
By the way, days before this, I had mentioned that i was bisexual.
Shes pretty progressive in other issues but is somehow homophobic. Im so so conflicted.
I know this a decision I have to make for myself but I need input from others.
TLDR: We have very similar interests and values but shes homophobic, should I keep pursuing her
