Our house has shitty wiring, and I've suspected for years that's whats been killing my PCs. I just dropped some money to replace a faulty psu, and I'm already getting problems. I assume I'm suffering from dirty power, maybe inconsistent voltage. What would benefit me more a UPS, power conditioner, or some fancy surge protector? Thanks for any info.
I recently rebuilt my pc, new hardware, new case, and wanted to clean my setup. I redid all the cable management, got rid a lot of decorations and knickknacks, reorganized a few things. Really liking how it's looking now. Any suggestions or advice? This probably isn't its final form.
Bought some new ID Cooling fans to put in my rig. Got two up front for intake, and one in the rear for exhaust. My question is, is the default settings good enough? I did set control mode to pwm since they have four pin connectors.
This time Tommy's master morpher. Repainted everything, bought 3d printed coins from Etsy, and labels from BD15.
I've been having issues with HP pre built for a while. Most signs pointed to a failing power supply. I know if I wanted to use a different PSU I'd have to replace the motherboard. I also read that a different motherboard might not fit in the HP case. So I replaced all three. The build took 3 to 4 hours. Took my time with routing the cables. I'm pretty confident I did everything right. There was a little squeeze out of the thermal paste when I mounted the cooler, I may have used too much... But everything is running fine so far. Haven't tried any games yet. I did reinstall windows too. I plan on replacing that janky bottom fan, I wanted an intake and the cord was too short to mount on the front.
Not bad for my first build, huh?
