I wanna know what this part is in my hp laptop (it gets really hot)

it looks like a black kinda snake thing but the nanosecond i open up my laptop screen it starts to heat up instantaneously and it gets really hot to the point I can't even touch it. I tried loading genshin up and my fan turned itself off(is that normal) and it started to burn my leg through my jeans. Anyways, I js wanna know what this thing is called and mayhaps even an explanation on what it does bcuz it looks important

Is this Worth fixing?

I got this 5-6 year-old Samsung laptop who recently started blue screening, and now its stuck on this black screen you see here. but now, it isnt the only thing, right in the end of the video you can see its damaged on one of the sides, i fear that is the reason why its started glitching like this (maybe internal displacement)

Now, i'm not sure if its worth even fixing this or just getting another laptop is an better option what do you guys think?

A rather specific question about planar tweeters and warm air.

A rather specific question about planar tweeters and warm air.

Hey guys. I don't know if this is the right sub for this question, but maybe someone has been in the same situation and found an answer.

This planar tweeter is sitting quite close to the PC exaust fan. Just by hand, the air hitting the tweeter is not hot or even warm-it's just slightly warmer than room temp. With that said, it's slightly warm air that's always hitting the tweeter.

My question: Is the airflow and very slight heat going to damage/degrade the tweeter?

Wireless keyboard and mouse. Are they reliable?

Home desktop computer: Years ago, in the stone age, I had a wireless keyboard and mouse. It was a new thing back then. They were unreliable (at least mine were). The technology must be lightyears ahead of where it was back then, right?

Trojan??

Trojan??

I woke up to a trojan on my pc, my cashapp card had failed transactions (benefits of being broke), and my roblox and ubisoft account had logins and password changes. I reverted all of these and ordered a new cashapp card, added 2fa apps to my roblox and ubisoft.

I booted up my pc and the kwu1z1s9v started automatically, its some ip manager thing. I opened the file location and it was in contained in my discord files? And i have no clue what the data validator thing is too, i deleted it as well.

Can anyone explain what these two things are, what I should do?
I ran a full offline windows scan, deleted everything that was suspicious, and my pc seems to be running fine. What else should I do?

Windows 11 startup error 0x00000bb, file: hyberfil.sys

Windows 11 startup error 0x00000bb, file: hyberfil.sys

Hey! I don't know anything about the inner workings of OSs, so sorry for the crudeness of this post.

This morning when I have tried to turn on my Acer laptop I have gotten this error. Trying again with 'enter' didn't solve anything. As a last resort I held down the power button and turned on the laptop again - this time starting normally.

Can you please tell me if this error was a symptom of some faulty hardware, or a system issue? I would love to fix it while I still can.

Yesterday I haven't installed anything, or touched any system files. I have had this laptop for maybe 3 years of hard labor, so hardware being worn down is likely.

Thank you in advance!!

Did I mess up buying this iMac?

Bought an iMac (8‑core, 24GB RAM, 512GB) for $1699 after upgrades. Now I’m realizing the 10‑core GPU upgrade was +$200 and pushed it into a weird price range.

Seeing the Mac mini M4 Pro for ~$1599 with way better specs:

14‑core CPU, 20‑core GPU

24GB RAM, 512GB

more ports + multi‑display support

Did I overpay or is the iMac still worth it?

Problem with a game not loading

Hello! Ive been playing a rhythm game called unbeatable and a few days ago I closed it with alt f4. After this it gave me and error and my entire computer restarted. The game works fine on other computers but no matter how many reinstalls I do the game will never load past the health and safety so I know I fucked something up.

Don’t know what to upgrade

I don’t know what parts I should upgrade. I was thinking about getting a OLED monitor, but I don’t know if I should just get a 5070 TI instead

Opinions on Microsoft Surface Laptop and HP OmniBook X Flip

Hi everyone,

I’m upgrading my laptop from an HP Pavilion, but I’m not sure what to get. I’ve been shopping around and researching and the two that I’m interested in are the Surface and OmniBook.

Does anyone have any personal experiences with either of the computers? Any pros or cons?

I know my buddy had a Surface and he loved it except when he wanted to replace the battery on it he had to rip it apart basically to access the battery, like literally rip it apart with hands, and was forced to crack the screen.

Specs for exact ones I’m looking at are below:

HP OmniBook

https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/hp-omnibook-x-flipngai-16-as0047nr

Surface Laptop

https://www.bestbuy.com/product/microsoft-surface-laptop-15-2k-touchscreen-snapdragon-x-elite-2024-16gb-memory-256gb-storage-7th-ed-copilot-pc-platinum/JJGXP2VF38

Looking forward to responses!

Edit: I’m planning on using the laptop for school and work in the future. Not planning on gaming on it.

A bug in my my monitor

A bug in my my monitor

it's that thing in the inferior that it catches the color of the background and turn it into a horrible bug, is there any way of getting this out? I already installed a new driver, reset the PC, checked the plugs of my gpu, what could I possibly do to try to save my monitor

Computer keeps shutting off after a few minutes. One core is overheating

So I have this older pc build that’s been having issues lately. It just turns itself off due to overheating and the details say specifically one core in my cpu is overheating. I replaced the cpu (amd fx 8370) and the thermal paste but that didn’t fix anything at all. I can’t diagnose the issue or find any solutions online.

Would anyone have any ideas as to what’s causing this? Bad cooler?

Deleted the setup files and didn't have it bugging me for a few weeks. However, it's back again

Lenovo Legion 7 W key not working right

So, roughly a week ago the W key on my Lenovo legion 7 stopped working. Took the keycap off, cleaned underneath it, seemed to get it working again. Unfortunately I had broken the keycap hinge taking it off, so I had to order a replacement (thank you Aliexpress?). Came in yesterday, I managed to get it put back together. Seemed to be working. Yay!

Nay. Gave one of my games a spin today, and what would you know, it’s stopped working again. Although, this time I discovered something bizarre. If I use it in quick succession with another key, it works?? Like pressing “w” on its own does nothing. Quickly typing “ewewewewew” will work. I don’t know anything about computers so no clue why it would do that.

Things I’ve tried: blowing canned air under the key. Reinstalling the keyboard driver. Beating the heck out of the key. Turning filter keys on and off. Did some thing that was supposed to test if the keyboard was working right. I’m going to do some more troubleshooting but that’s where I am right now.

I’ve reached out to a friend in tech and have yet to hear back, so for now all I’ve got my computer-illiterate self and the internet. If anyone has any advice please please help me this is driving me nuts.
