What's this noise mean?
Opened it up earlier thinking it was the fans but I guess not. Any ideas at all?

This is some issue im facing for the past week idk whats it about. This is a second monitor which is connected to my laptop and yes my laptop is having the same issue so ig its not my monitor.
Is such a high usage normal for this laptop on idle? It's been in use for a few years now. Windows and Intel graphics are updated. I ran a windows security scan too in case there was a virus. It lags a lot as well for example just opening file explorer or a web browser takes long and moving the window causes stutters too.
Sry for not them not being screenshots.
Edit: Thank you for all the help guys, I tried some things that were recommended but not exactly sure what triggerred the cpu to go back to full speed.
Didn't have to open the laptop up or anything. Not a charger issue since I did everything on battery. Didn't update anything.
I restarted the laptop amd turned of hp coolsense. Tried finding drivers on hps website but wasn't showing an option for windows 11 there. I also went to the power plan setting in control panel and changed from hp recommended to balanced.
Probably missed writing 1 or 2 steps here cuz I forgot them. I added a pic of the new performance stats in my comment.
Hello,
I am having trouble turning on my fan lights for my Cyberpower PC. Just the lights. What app/program would be most useful into getting to not only keep them on but change their color?
I bought a sata to usb cable for an external drive but the power supply cable coming off doesn’t make sense to me? Google says 3.5in hdd needs 12v power supply to spin the disc but I’m not sure how to plug 12v into this. Is there an adapter I’m not aware of? Most cables I see people using online have a 12v plug-in on the back where the sata connects. maybe I’m dumb but thought I’d get an answer quicker on here. Thanks
Hi! This probably comes up a lot but I need to buy a computer for a few easy uses. I need to take some basic sql courses for a project. And my daughter is going into middle school and will need to do word processing and basic stuff like that. It would be great if the kids could also play Minecraft.
What would be the minimum things I would need? Budget is very very tight. If it’s possible to do it on $500 or less that would be great. Need monitor with it. I have an old brother printer and a keyboard and mouse from a friend.
Used is fine.
I have asked a lot of my friends and even gone to google but nobody can give a definite and 100% answer. I have a PC at home and a laptop, they are synced through cloud I believe (idk if there’s even another way 💀). I’m a techy person but not when it comes to this kinda stuff, so my question is if I reset my laptop will i only lose what’s on my laptop or will I lose everything on both devices? Should i unsync the devices if that’s even possible first? I want to use my laptop as a travel gaming laptop for work cause i’m not always home for days. It’s acting slow so that is the reason for this, plus I want it to be its own thing. Sorry if anything is confusing, I can clear up stuff if there’s questions I just wanna know if i’ll lose everything on both devices!
After facebook banned my account with 10 years of memories in it for no reason, I decided to invest in a good hdd to not give a shit about online services anymore. I'm looking at this used dell enterprise 4tb drive ( suppose seagate exos oem, used for data center ) for storage , but the seller says the drive isn't compatible with hdd dock/enclosure as it's for "data center", can only use this for NAS/pc. I've been looking for evidence of this and found that some drives use SAS controller, while most enclosure out there use SATA, that explains the incompatibility. However on the sticker of this dell enterprise drive, I'm seeing "SATA 6gbps" , does this mean it'll work on generic SATA enclosure ? the dude selling this drive has years in selling drives so honestly I don't want to be a "smartass".
I can’t figure out why my computer screen is pink. I’ve tried messing around with the vga cable, and it just alternates from a pink to a blue hue. Any idea why? Do I need a new VGA cable?
Okay so I might have accidentally spilled some water from my water bottle onto my laptop( Lenovo ThinkPad).
It honestly wasn’t that much water, but once it spread across the keyboard it looked like a lot. A little also got on the screen. I don’t think it got deep inside near the battery or vents.
The laptop was plugged in when it happened. It still worked for about a minute after the spill, but the second my brain processed what happened, I immediately unplugged it, shut it down, and wiped everything with a microfiber cloth.
Right now I have a fan blowing on it and it’s been drying for about 5 minutes so far. I really need to do some important stuff on it soon, so I’m wondering
When do you think it would actually be safe to turn it back on?
Also, is there anything else I should do to reduce the chance of damage?
TL;DR: Small amount of water spilled on laptop keyboard/screen while plugged in. Laptop still worked, I immediately unplugged it, shut it down, wiped it dry, and put a fan on it. When is it safe to turn it back on?
My computer has trouble starting up I press the power button and it tries to turn on but immediately turns off and then goes in a loop trying to turn on but can’t. I not very tech savvy but if someone can tell me where to start any help would be appreciated thank you in advance
Help! How do I make it full-screen? Dragging the left side using the cursor isn't working. And please don't say something like "press f11". I prefer the one where you can click on all the tabs without having to click f11 again and again. (Also, I am a new windows user who is only familiar with Mac. So I don't know how to take a screenshot and etcetera)
I got this old 256 gb m.2 sata ssd drive lying around with some data on it I need. I dont have a reader for it so I am planning on opening up my Lenovo ideapad, switching drives for a moment, extract stuff and swap again. Would that be safe? could switching drives like that cause any problems
Lately whenever I try to update my laptop, it gets halfway through the update, and then does this, then goes into repair mode and removes the update I was just trying to do. Any ideas at all on what could be wrong?
I moved apartments recently, so I had to re-set up my pc. I plugged my monitor into my computer and it didn't work. So I plugged it into another area in my computer (this time into the graphics card), and it still didn't turn on. I tried another cable, then an entire other monitor, and neither of them worked. I even tried to push the graphics card in a bit more.
I know it's not the graphics card itself because it still lights up when I turn on the PC.
I have actually no clue what's going on. any advice?
(by the way, NOTHING on the monitors turn on. not even a flicker of light. it's pitch black. I did also try the on button a lot on the monitors)
My current desktop is starting to die on me and I kinda want to clean up my setup instead of replacing it with another big tower. Been looking at getting a best all in one pc but I honestly have no clue which ones are actually reliable long term.
I mostly use it for work stuff, streaming, lots of browser tabs, and maybe some light gaming here and there.
Does anyone here actually use one daily and feel good about it after a year or two? thanks
Here are the specs on my Legion
And here are the specs on my Desktop PC:
I was gonna upgrade to a newer GPU so i can run at 1440 in modern newer games, but i found that my Laptop supposedley has better outright gaming specs. Should i just get a 1000GB SSD and a cooling pad and make my laptop my primary gaming device along with work device?
Js wanted to come on here and ask what are good laptops that can handle maybe slight gaming? And can handle coding or game development. Sorry for not being more in depth but I know nothing about laptops and computers😭 but I am interested!! I’d really appreciate y’all’s help!!!
