Hi! I hope this isn't too spammy. I'm a game developer, and a GT fan for years. Last week, I released Room 713 (https://store.steampowered.com/app/3961890/Room\_713/), my first horror game.

This is the trailer:

Trailer

Room 713 is an anomaly spotting game set in a liminal, The Shining-inspired hotel. What differentiates it from other anomaly games is the ARG-like puzzles and ciphers that reveal a murder mystery for players to solve, adding a "game of Clue" layer to the experience. (In fact, one of the endings is locked behind correctly answering who's the killer, the killed, what was the murder weapon, when and where it happened, etc.)

You got your classic ciphers...

Cipher 1

Morse, SSTV encoding...

Cipher 2

Even binary encryption...

Cipher 3

And some good ol' hidden safes.

Safe

As you can see, the development of this game was obviously inspired by years of watching GT. I wanted to share it here because I genuinely believe some of you will love it. And if Tom were to make a theory out of my tiny game, I would just completely lose it, hahaha.

If you read this far, here's a gift:

I released Room 713 (https://store.steampowered.com/app/3961890/Room\_713/) this thursday. It's an anomaly horror game set in a liminal, 70s hotel inspired by Stanley Kubrick's work.

Room 713 tries to elevate The Exit 8 style formula with Resident Evil like inspection and interaction, ARG-like puzzles and ciphers and a murder mystery narrative for the players to solve, adding a "game of Clue" layer to the whole experience.

It's currently sitting at 100% rating and it's cheaper than a kebab. If you are a fan of the genre, you can get it in a bundle with other two great anomaly games (Last Term and Kyoto Anomaly) for a bigger discount.

If this sounds cool to you, consider checking it out! It's my first commercial game :)

Not sad, not happy, not nervous, not anxious. Just... "Emotionally unavailable".

I guess I'm too burned out from the project. The typical "3-month project" ends up lasting nearly 10 months

I feel like this should be a big personal milestone, a celebration of some sort, but I'm just exhausted.

Overall, the solo dev experience has been kind of miserable for me. Too lonely. Too mentally taxing. If anything happens to you, the project simply doesn't move forward.

It's not like I don't want to keep developing games, but definitely not solo.

EDIT: grammar

Hi! I'm a solo indie dev, and my first commercial game, Room 713, is about to be released.

It's an anomaly game that tries to elevate the anomaly formula and differentiate itself from "Just Another The Exit 8" with a deep narrative, complex ARG-style puzzles, and replayability through different endings and a Speedrun leaderboard.

If this sounds interesting to you, there's a demo up on Steam and Itch.io to try it out!
