For context, I am a 26 year old who is fortunate enough to own my own home, and I work in college athletics. Our hockey league is currently in the final rounds of their tournament and we wanted to have a watch party, and they decided it would be best for me to host since they found out I have a big living room in my house.
They all came over, but within a few minutes of them all being there they discovered I didn't have any alcohol in my house, and many of them were frustrated, a couple to the point of even leaving and going to a bar to watch it. They said I should have told them and that it was rude not to.
I don't really know what I did wrong though, or at least didn't know that not telling them was bad. I've never had alcohol before so of course I've never bought any for my house, and so I didn't even think about it until they mentioned it. I had ordered Dominos and made popcorn and put out chips and salsa so I thought people would be happy that there would be food there, so I was surprised and disappointed that they were upset when they got there.
