how do you avoid the “grass is greener” syndrome in a relationship?

Like you’ll be with a good girl, things are stable, but then you go out, see attractive girls everywhere, also social media keeps feeding endless options, and your brain starts drifting into “what if” territory for no reason.

Then suddenly you start overlooking the person you actually care about because your mind is chasing novelty instead of reality.

How do you guys stay grounded and appreciate the person you’re with instead of constantly comparing or chasing dopamine or always looking around?

Mine was received April 24, notice date April 30, and I haven’t seen the biometrics notice online or by mail yet. Just wondering if others in the same filing window are also still waiting, especially with the new April 27 biometrics/vetting update.

Anyone with an I-485 received date between April 20–30 still waiting for a biometrics notice?

Hey everyone, looking for some insight if anyone has dealt with something like this.

I initially forgot to file my 2021 taxes, and later realized there was an issue with how my crypto activity was being treated. The IRS seems to have treated my crypto transactions as income instead of net gain. I used Robinhood and traded a lot, so the total sales volume was high, but my actual gain was only around $8K.

I worked with a tax expert and filed a paper return in March 2026 with Form 8949 and Schedule D showing the correct cost basis and gain. I also paid the tax I owed (~$2K) at that time, and they even took my 2025 refund (~$1100).

Here’s where it gets confusing:

  • In my IRS online account (tax records), it now shows adjusted gross income correctly and a small refund (~$3) after filing
  • BUT my account transcript still shows ~$450K income and a balance of ~$180K owed
  • I’m still getting notices and collections activity

I also went to an IRS office, and they told me paper returns take at least 12 weeks to process and to check back around June.

So I’m basically stuck where:

  • One part of the system looks updated (AGI + refund)
  • Another part (transcript/collections) is still using the old incorrect numbers

My questions:

  1. Has anyone filed a late/paper return for crypto (8949/Schedule D) and how long did it take to fully reflect everywhere?
  2. Did the notices stop automatically once processed, or did you have to call and request a hold?
  3. Is it normal for transcripts and collections to lag behind the online account like this?

Planning to call IRS to request a hold, but wanted to see if others have gone through this and how long it took to resolve.

Appreciate any help 🙏

Hey everyone,

Posting on behalf of a friend(country Mexico) who’s in a stressful situation and trying to figure out the best next move.

Their asylum case was recently denied by an immigration judge, and they don’t feel comfortable continuing with their previous lawyer based on how things went.

Right now, they have:

  • About 30 days to file an appeal
  • No new lawyer secured yet

They’re actively trying to find a new attorney, but in case that doesn’t work out in time, they’re wondering:

👉 Is it okay to file the appeal themselves first just to meet the deadline, and then have a lawyer step in later for the full argument?
👉 Has anyone here done a pro se appeal just to keep their case alive?
👉 Any tips on finding a good immigration lawyer quickly for appeals ?
👉 Anything they should be careful about in this 30-day window?

They mainly want to avoid missing the deadline while making sure they handle things the right way.

Would really appreciate any advice or experiences 🙏
