Stubborn injury

Hi!

I’ve been back to kickboxing for over two years now. For the first time I started to develop an injury, of course at a time where things are going well and you decide to take sparring classes more often.

It basically came out of the blue. A sharp pinching sensation in the lower back when throwing kicks, mainly higher ones. Sometimes in the hip too and it basically blocks me from throwing multiple kicks in a row. Like it hurts but also almost fees impossible to throw another one. Only on the right side.

I hoped it would pass, but no. Went to see a physiotherapist but so far no luck and also unsure of what the problem really is. Currently working on loosening the hip flexors and strengthening the glutes. So confused about the glutes though, I am a woman and that means training glutes/legs quite regularly and heavy. I wouldn’t think my glutes are an issue here. Never thought my hips were so tight it could cause an injury, I can easily throw a high kick. Though, the hips are a familiar issue in other family members.

I’m just bummed to take a step back when I was doing so well but also see no improvement from the physio exercises. The only time the pain goes away is if I don’t train. It will come back as soon as I go back to training again. No issues during the day or work, not even the gym. All I notice is if I went too hard with my kicks I feel like I have a hard time coming back up after bending down to pick something up for example. The last bit right before straightening my back and standing fully right up is really spicy.

Not expecting some miracle cures here, but does anyone recognize this injury? What was it and how did you fix it?

Struggling with exercise

Helleur!

A couple of weeks ago I started Tirz. Binge tendecies and food noise has always been a struggle. My meals and exercise were never the problem for my weight gain. Absoutely love to play sports and also started going to the gym in more recent years. I try my best to make nutritional meals and have come a long way. Tirz really helped me quit all the destructive behaviours. After a short time of nausea and too much surpression (which lead to a bit of tiredness) I can now eat my proper meals again.

Unfortunately I feel like tirz impacts my stamina and energy in the gym. When I am not working out I feel great, but I am unable to give it my all in the gym and during kickboxing practice. During cardio/boxing I just feel out of breath and when lifting I just run out of energy real quick. I first blamed eating too little. Now that I’ve got that in check I still feel the same and it also doesn’t quite explain the stamina part. I have tried a couple of things when it comes to food like eating more carbs before training, elektrolytes and magnesium. I’m just unsure, what am I missing?

Maybe I just want too much. I’m really trying to just maintain muscle for now, but lifting my usual weights is quite hard and it kinda bums me out. Fatigue comes so much quicker. I already decided to take a step back and hit the gym a day less. Just scared to lose my progress. Same thing for boxing, I was doing really well and happy with how my stamina was improving. Now I’m struggling with keeping my arms up and just feeling like I have no stamina. I really wanted to lose weight, but also stay fit.

Anyone that recognizes this? I’d love to hear some advice and things that worked for you.

Fatigue/less stamina during exercise

Hi!

I’m on low doses of both tirz and reta. I noticed that my energy levels are fine during the day and I don’t have any real side effects, however when I’m working out in the gym I notice that I get fatigued much easier. I kind of expected this so it’s mostly annoying rather than weird. I can live with that, I’ll focus on that once I reach my desired weight. The one thing that does confuse me and really bother me is that I seem to have lost stamina. I do kickboxing and I get out of breath way more easily.

Does anyone know why this happens and how to solve this? I eat a nice chicken pasta pesto 1-2 hours before any workout session.

Hi,

Any words of advice?

Hi!

I have been on reta for about three weeks and my appetite has become more and more supressed to the point that eating is now a real struggle. I can get in a good breakfast that stuffs me to the point of near nausea (it’s really not crazy; oats, apple and whey). I can go hours without eating after that. Forcing my crackers and egg down, with some luck a small dinner. All together I am happy when I reach 1200-1500 calories. This is really low for me, I exercise a lot and want to at least retain muscle. Actually, I could live if I could eat the 1500 calories comfortably but eating almost feels like a punishment. Yes, I try to get in my proteins with shakes but I feel so full all the time!

Now I’ve read that some people stabilize after a week or four. Makes me wonder if I should already lower my dose or ride this out. What are your thoughts?
