Psychosis?

I was told to post this to this sub.

I made a post a little while back regarding my dad (55M) who came to visit me (18F) in another state and showed up with full body shakes and convinced that his housekeeper mentally tortured and drugged him for two nights straight in his apartment and stole his bank account information. I convinced him to go to the hospital to get a urine drug test and all it showed was that he had taken adderal and THC. I didnt know it was psychosis at this time, I believed him and then I told a close friend and they told me about psychosis so I posted my situation here

https://www.reddit.com/r/whatdoIdo/s/M56LWdhRCi

Things escalated when he kept stating that he planned to kill his housekeeper and her entire family on a certain day with a certain weapon. The details are in the post linked above.

Based on the recommendations from that thread I convinced him to go back to the hospital under a false promise that the hospital could test his blood more to find out the drugs his housekeeper used. While he went to the bathroom I told as many nurses and the doctor and receptionist that I believe he is suffering from alcohol induced psychosis and believes he was tortured and wants to kill his housekeeper who he believes did it. They said they will try to help but cant take any serious measures unless he stated it himself or I called the police. I did not call the police as I was too scared. The doctor ran another blood test on him and asked him about his drinking history. My dad told the doctor he is not a heavy drinker and only drinks about four glasses a day of wine (he pours full to-the-brim glasses). He told the doctor that he stopped drinking when this event happened. The doctor did not ask him about psychosis or anything, just did the drug test and sent us on our way. I got my dad told stay an extra day so that I could watch him. He kept crying and was very emotionally distressed but he was fine enough to go out for lunch and act normal there. By this day (two days after he had arrived) his tremors had decreased significantly and he had stopped claiming to plan to kill his housekeeper. Also the day passed that he originally “planned to do it” in the climax of his delusions so I am not worried about that as much anymore.

I planned to let him go home the next day but I planned to call him daily and call a wellfare check on him if he did not pick up. He picked up everytime and every time I checked that he did not want to hurt anyone. I felt very relieved when I ended up calling him a day after he left and he told me that he thinks he had delusions. He said he just let his housekeeper go but did not intend to hurt her. He came to this conclusion when he got his accounts back and nothing had been taken or moved or even touched. He plans to hold off on drinking and he told me is went to see a counselor and his doctor. It has been two weeks since he visited and he has about stopped talking about it and talks as normal. Should I still be as worried?

For reference, this man has been drinking wine heavily for about >40 years. He has an abusive history and was abused growing up, he is very troubled. He has been on adderal for >10 years and these delusions happened when he took a 10 mg THC edible to sleep for the first time (no it was not laced with fent). I was wondering if the psychosis could have been from an adderal and THC interaction? He doesnt usually consume THC until the nights those events happened. And he claimed these delusions only took place at night which is when he consumed the edible.

However he also claimed to have stopped drinking alcohol cold turkey on these days too. So basically he is taking adderal and on these days quit drinking and replaced alcohol to sleep with a THC edible for the first time in >40 years. He is also on trazadone. He also takes meds for high blood pressure and cholesterol. He eats very healthy but he does have a binging eating disorder that occurs mostly at night.

I am mentioning all this in the case that anyone is knowledgeable in how these things can interact and cause a psychosis. Or if it could be a UTI or a brain tumor and if I should convince him to go back despite him seemingly acting normal again.

He is many states away so when I say acting normal it is normal during phone calls, I am not aware to how he is acting all day. He is back at work, going on business trips etc. but he is not staying in his apartment, he has been living in a hotel because these delusions took place in his apartment so he is still scared to go back.

He says he is embarrassed by his delusions and how he told everyone about them as fact only to now see that they weren’t most likely real despite his full belief that it was.
Any advice?

Listed:
- He takes 10mg normal release adderal and 15 mg slow release adderal daily
- he took 5mg THC + CBD edible
- he is prescribed and has trazadone for sleep but doesnt use it daily
- he is a heavy alcoholic and stopped drinking during this time period
- He is now prescribed xanax for sleep

I am not asking for a diagnosis and I will not read any comments as fact, I just need help and any ideas from professionals that I can tell another professional to verify.
