Ordered prescription glasses from firmoo for the first time, here’s how it went

I first heard about Firmoo through TikTok ads. What caught my attention was how cute and unique a lot of their frames looked. I was definitely skeptical at first. I’d never heard of them before and the prices were super low but I was kinda looking for new options for affordable glasses so I decided to give them a try. Thought I’d share my experience in case anyone else is also looking for new affordable online glasses places to try.

I ordered two pairs of prescription glasses with a few add-ons. For each pair, I paid an extra $25.95 for driving lenses and $6 for thinner lenses. The total came out to around $112 but I got $33 off with a coupon code. Honestly, it seems like they always have some kind of discount running. They do offer a new customer code but I actually found a better deal elsewhere on their site since the new customer discount didn’t apply to the add-ons.

Shipping to Texas took about two weeks and there was no shipping fee as my total was over the $79 minimum. I’ve had the glasses for around 10 days now. They arrived in plastic cases with a bit of padding at the bottom plus pouches that work pretty well as cleaning cloths.

The frames look exactly like the photos on the site but the ones I picked are pretty thin. Some of the other styles looked sturdier so that may just come down to frame choice. I like how lightweight they are and i believe as long as I am not rough with them, they’ll hold up fine.

The lenses themselves are great and match my prescription perfectly. There’s a slight yellow tint from the driving lens coating but it’s not very noticeable and light reflects purple off them to other people. I wasn’t completely sure what to expect from driving lenses at first. I only got them because my optometrist recommended night driving glasses but they do seem to help with glare and contrast.

Overall, the price is hard to beat. I’m really happy with the glasses and I’d definitely order from them again especially for prescription sunglasses.

TLDR: if you know you’ll be careful with your glasses, Firmoo is a good option to try out new frame styles on a budget.

Top and blazer Zara, Glasses Firmoo, Jewelry Mejuri....can't decide if this outfit looks nice with these glasses for my first ever podcast?

Hi,

Your feedback is really important and I’m lowkey stressing. I will be recording my first proper podcast episode (with cameras, not just audio) and suddenly I care way too much about how I look.

I went for a semi casual, put together vibe (black top, oversized blazer and black pants). Now that I have added my glasses, I can’t tell if they elevated the look or threw it off.

I've been stuck on this for days now.

My mom is a working mom. The kind who wakes up already thinking about everyone else, goes through her entire day carrying responsibilities like it's normal and still somehow finds energy to ask me if I've eaten.

She's not into tech at all. In fact, she avoids anything that feels like it might demand patience from her after a long day. If something has too many steps, she just quietly gives up on it and goes back to doing things the harder way she's used to.

And maybe that's why this feels important.

I've already decided I'm getting her flowers. I'm also writing her a handwritten note, something small and honest. Because I know she keeps those things. But to help her in her office work, the main gift will be something tech related that she can really use. I've got a budget of $100 max so my options are kind of limited to. So far, I have narrowed down to:

  1. A smart speaker from tribit. I imagine it quietly sitting in her room, helping her with setting reminders, playing music while she cooks late after work.

  2. A digital photo frame. I like this one more emotionally. I can picture her glancing at it after a long day and seeing family moments just appear. But I keep wondering if it becomes something she stops noticing after a week.

  3. The most practical option I've considered is a laptop/phone power bank like P63. This one feels unromantic but something she can use everyday. She's constantly moving between work and errands, always managing things on a low battery. This can just quietly fix one small stress point in her day without asking anything from her.

  4. There's the smart mug idea which sounds comforting in theory. Warm tea that doesn't go cold while she's busy. But I can't tell if that's something she'd love or something she'd politely use once.

I also thought about earbuds without tangled wires but I'm not sure she'd actually switch habits for them.

So I'm asking honestly you guys now, if you were choosing for a mom like this (working, tired, always thinking of others first and not interested in complicated tech) which one would you go with?

I've used the same power bank for 6 months now without ditching it, AMA

Bought the INIU P50 back when I had the 16 Pro. Kept using it through the upgrade to the 17 Pro. Figured 6 months of daily pocket carry was worth sharing here for anyone looking for something reliable.

Here's how its been going so far for me:

The soft touch plastic has surface scratches. Not deep, just the kind that happen when something lives in a pocket with keys. The glossy screen section catches them more visibly. Structurally it's completely fine. The lanyard cable has survived daily use without fraying and still works.

P50 adjusted without any issues once I switched phones. USB-PD negotiation with the 17 Pro pulls the full fast charge speed just as cleanly as it did with the 16 Pro. The 45W high efficiency output means most of the stored energy actually reaches the phone rather than disappearing as heat during conversion.

One thing I noticed is that the heat output during charging has not increased which is usually the first sign of cell degradation.

I feel the performance has not degraded much compared to the day I got it because I am not a very patient person when it comes to tech. If this is something you were looking for, I'll be happy to answer your questions. I'd also suggest others to get some cover for it to protect the surface. I really wish that the screen hadn't gotten so many scratches.

This covers everything but you can still ask me anything about stuff that I might have missed here.
