(not for noobs) I think that beginner linux users should start by Mint, Fedora or cachyos. Despite the saying distro doesn't matter.

DON'T TAKE ANY ADVICE FROM THIS!! I feel that mint and others listed should be like a stepping stones. You feel comfortable using mint like using terminal etc. then try a different one arch based or fedora. Then slowly you would start understanding different package managers etc. I think this depends individually if you just want to work or want to learn more and try more things

Customizing is Tedious but not Difficult

Its been a month using mint, I was customizing terminal not the default gnome-terminal but Alacritty which took some time installed starship for the colors I will share it soon.

Ricing was more like trial and error "you see something that bothers you and then try different combinations to fix it". How the code is written I am sure you will understand. My biggest problem was not reading properly. You will get the hang of it once you get your hands dirty. Documentations would be your best friend. I would recommend just know about different variable types like strings integer etc. this are optional though. See carefully read the comments you will get it

Does installing 2 distros causes any problem with the bootloader of the two (mint and cachy)

I am on mint now and I am planning to install chachy with alongside mint. And during the installation cachy tell us to install a bootloader. I am confused as mint alredy has a grub menu what will happen with the bootloader of cachy. Will there be any problem or issues? Or one will override the other making another os unreachable?

I heard a few youtubers say that "if you didn't update your Arch systems regularly it'll break" you should regularly update arch system. I have a spare computer which I don't use internet much and I am planning to install chachy. And I am new to linux I am on mint tried cachy liked its snappiness. So is it just a myth or it does really happen? am i okay not updating for years?

I installed xfce as a backup de and in the login screeen ie lightdm there was a option of cinnamon(wayland) i use nvidia 470driver with gt730 so wayland is not supported ig. After sleecting I was stuck in a black screen with a dash blinking on top. I Alt f4 then got into tty logged myself into where I typed.

sudo nano /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf

Changed the timeout from 0 to 60 then changed the de.

So dont use auto login or set the login screen 0.

NOTE: I am a noob and this is my first proper troubleshoot. Its only been a month using linux. So please don't be harsh

I was searching for kden live in software manager where i stumbled upon KDE-standard installed it tried it. Not for my pc. There are, xfce, LXQT, kde from there.

NOTE: While uninstalling use apt autoremove <your distro name>. If you don't use it then you have to manually remove each dependency from software manager and putting your password each time.

Mint, you brought life to my old i3 with an exceptionally old hdd. Yes the boot time is a but slow but I don't mind. You made me realize that he was never old it was Windows who is being a cancer, you saved him, breath life into him. Now I can Game and even record on it. Thank you ❤️.

But not everything is sunshine and rainbow. It didn't able run my favorite Hitman Blood Money. It crashed when i tried using proton 10 so I switched to 4.2 it worked. But failed to give 60 fps. I ran around to proton db but nothing helped. It still had that stuttering can't get rid of it. Now I came to accept this is one of the flaws.

But I still Love you.❤️

Its been 2 weeks. Its almost smooth except I had to shift to a llts kernel for my hardware. But Its fun and I like it. Few games doesn't work which I am fine with.

I am a new linux user currently on mint. i have a very old pc which is slow. I heard cachy is lightweight and also good for gaming (i am a light gamer) but iam not sure about nvidia old drivers are supported or not. Also its based on arch so there is a fear that will the rolling update have a chance of breaking my os.

I am using mint and I am a newbie linux user. I wanted to move to arch but this rolling update scares me and might brick my pc. As i am running old hardware i37100 and gt730 how drivers will work there idk.
