is ultrawide gaming worth it

is ultrawide worth it for gaming? it will be 3440x1440 34" 1800r qd-oled. just it seems the sweet spot between 1440p and 4k (rtx 5080 user here) and is more immersive. im just worried it will look too soft, especially dlss, as im used to 140ppi, and not all my games might support it

how does 1440p look? native vs dlss etc

pretty much the title! im considering a 1440p monitor, but i havent seen one before so was wondering how it looks, both native and with different levels of dlss. i will be getting a 27" if i do get it, im used to 140 ppi, will the 110 at 1440p look ok?

pretty much the question: which for a 5080? the dilemma is, i dont want to build my pc and assume i will rely on upscaling/fg to get the fps i want, because thats inconsistent and not always supported in games (and i will play some games with either no dlss/older versions, eg tomb raider and horizon), but i also dont want it to be that dlss is in all my games and works well, so then i could have had 4k but didnt . . .

so im building my first pc soon, its going to be an insane upgrade! currently i have a laptop and play games at 1080p, max fps 60, low/min settings, 16" 1080p screen. which feels like a bigger upgrade (playing single player games): 27" 1440p, slightly less ppi than im used to, maximum settings in everything, 120+ fps, only need dlss/fg if path tracing etc, or 32" 4k, same ppi im used to, high/ultra settings, needs dlss/fg often, 60-100fps normally or above with fg sometimes, hard to run pt in some games without running out of vram (looking at you, indiana jones!)? thanks!

How much fps do you need? i only play single player cinematic games, some with a controller. is 60-100 fps enough? or is 120+ better at the cost of visuals, because graphics are important in single player games like that.

which panel type? woled is £410, qd £430, tandem woled £520. tandem is very expensive, and ive heard about banding and uniformity issues. qd has raised blacks ive heard, woled also has more banding and worse text. which is best . . . ? i will be mostly playing single player cinematic games

Hi! i'm getting a monitor for my pc soon but im trying to decide what monitor panel to get. mainly its between a 3rd gen qd-oled and 4th gen tandem woled. the tandem woled is £100 more, and the other specs are the same. i will be mainly be playing single player games on the pc. my room is light but i can control it and dim it.

is tandem woled or qd-oled best? tandem is great but also has some issues with uniformity and grey banding i have heard. anyone here used a tandem woled, if so how has it been? the same for qd-oled. im coming from ips so idk which to get, although qd-oled is £100 cheaper. when i say qd-oled, i mean the older version, NOT the newest 5th gen, they are much more expensive
