My marketplace find: 1951 Excellency I serviced in non running condition. Super happy with it and it's keeping great time.

In the pre-owned section of the website, there are a few that say "hands don't work". Has anyone ordered one that can specify what that means?

I realize it can be a catch-all term. Maybe they should specify if the balance is still moving, or if the keyless works need repaired, etc.

I am learning watch repair on cheap vintage pin levers. I am just baffled at how this design method made sense. It feels like it takes MORE skill to assemble these. I understand that these are essentially throw away movements, but they always just seem to be dirty instead of actually broken (see pic). Did the time saved by not machining for jewels make up the difference?

I spent hours on this EB8000 bridge. When I finally got it to fall into place, I realized I left the click spring out. 😭 Lol, another day then.

I also think pin levers are pretty neat, but I would prefer them with jewels for this very reason.
