For some context me and my bf (Isac) have been dating for two 1/2 years. I graduated last year while my bf is currently a hs senior. I am currently in college classes, while my bf plans to go to college for a business degree upon graduation. Throughout our time together, he has talked about the money he wants to make and how I shouldn’t be a stay at home spouse unless he’s is making over 150,000. Which I agreed to because I want to work. Therefore, he cares about the status of money and hard work clearly which is fine until today. Today me and him were talking and I was wrong about a minor situation about music we were talking about. My bf proceeds to say “well it’s ok your a-little dumb bc your becoming a nurse”. Confused I said what and then he proceeded to call nursing a “trade” since you barely should need academic schooling for it since it’s hands on. And that nursing use no math besides formulas. Therefore, I proceeded to argue that it’s a profession and not a trade and the amount of effort that I put into just trying to get into nursing school. I feel like he doesn’t understand why his statements are hurtful especially coming from a man that is getting a business degree while putting down a 90% female dominated career. I’m not sure how to approach the situation again and help him understand my views or if I should.

For some context me and my bf have been dating for two years. I graduated last year while my bf is currently a hs senior. I am currently in general classes required to take for nursing school while my bf plans to go to college for four years with a business degree upon graduation. Throughout our time together he has talked about the money he wants to make and how I shouldn’t be a stay at home spouse unless he’s is making over 150,000. Which I agreed to because I want to work.
