I get this fuzzy spider web-like thing around the stems of my apples frequently. What is it?

If it’s some local thing, I live in Nebraska.

And I get my apples at Costco if that also helps.

I personally just brought a female Gourami, she’s hanging out at the top of the tank, just chilling… while our two massive Algae Eaters who usually hang around the middle and top sections are quivering at the bottom of the tank. These guys are like triple the size of the Gourami, almost the size of our plecos, and started bunching up together in the corner the second the Gourami went anywhere near them.

I guess when the most aggressive ones in the tank are the plecos, you might as well expect weird things like this to happen.
