Canyon Grail CF SLX 8 in M statt S: noch sinnvoll anpassbar oder besser Rahmen wechseln?

Hey zusammen,

Canyon Grail CF SLX 8 sizing question: can I make a size M work if Canyon recommends S?

Hey everyone,

I’m riding a Canyon Grail CF SLX 8 in size M. I’m 177 cm tall with an inseam of 83 cm, and Canyon actually recommends size S for me.

At the time I bought the bike, size S wasn’t available, so I ended up going with the M instead.

Do you think a proper bike fit and maybe changes like a different handlebar or stem setup could make the larger frame work well enough, or would I realistically be better off moving to a size S frame?

Has anyone here had a similar experience and ended up buying one size larger than what was actually recommended? Were you able to make it work properly, or did it still never feel quite right even after adjustments?

Also, do you think a professional bike fit is worth trying in this case, or is it unlikely to fully fix the position if the frame is simply too big?

Thanks a lot!

Canyon Grail AXS 8 weight reduction: upgrade parts or just change the bike?

Hey everyone,

I’m riding a Canyon Grail AXS 8 that weighs around 8 kg stock. I’d like to shave off some weight and I’m currently wondering whether it makes more sense to invest in meaningful upgrades or just move to a different bike altogether.

I’ve already upgraded the wheels to Zipp 303 XPLR SW, so that part is done.

From your experience, which components are actually worth upgrading if the goal is weight reduction? What parts would save the most weight in a way that still makes sense in terms of cost and performance?

Or do you think there’s not much meaningful weight left to save on this bike, and that at some point it would make more sense to upgrade to a new bike with a lighter frame/platform instead?

Would really appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!

Hi zusammen,

Danke euch!
