I'm trying to move away from Windows and only need GOG now on Linux so I can play on Fedora 44 or Bazzite, I just want to install and play (minimal hassle), will GOG be supporting this soon or even a beta?
Recently I noticed Fedora 44 users complaining their GPU wasn't being detected (nvidia stopped supporting older series of graphics card).
The problem for the end-user is they don't give a fuck about any of that, they just want something that works, it should really be the distro owners who make it absolutely clear (whether it's a drop-down menu or auto detection at installation) which distro variant with drivers will work or not on your hardware
I think bazzite does this well, why don't other distros adopt this user experience philosophy? no one has time to read wikis or a ton of text just to have something that works
Since the 10th generation of Intel i-series processors, there is an error in the calculation of the OpenSSL instructions, which Intel describes more fully here:
Until this is resolved, follow this safe workaround (you may be prompted to run as admin, press yes if so):
- Press the Windows key (or start menu) and type in "view advanced system settings" - type in without the exclamation marks
- in the Advanced tab, go to the bottom right and click on "Environment Variables"
- In the bottom white box called "System Variables" press the "New" variable button
- Type in the variable name:

OPENSSL_ia32cap
- In the variable value below it, type this exactly:

~0x20000000
- Press OK, then Press OK again to close the box
- Press OK on system properties to close that
- Restart your PC (you must restart for this to work)
- Launch Call of Cthulu - enjoy!
I currently have a PS5 DualSense Ege controller, which is great but I need to use the DSX app to emulate other controllers for non Sony games.
Is there a good app that could do something similar for the new Steam Controller so I can use it for all my games?
I currently have a Win11 machine that I only use for gaming and casual web browsing, YouTube, discord, etc. I will not be running any specific apps (maybe FreeCAD sometimes for 3d printing but I can live without it).
I am looking for a "it just works" experience where possible, I just want to mostly game on the machine for single player titles and don't mind about the anti-cheat as I don't really do MMOs. I may play ESO at some point but that's a problem for another day.
Is Bazzite the way to go? I was thinking of installing Fedora 44 (which has the new NT SYNC for improved windows gaming performance), or does Bazzite already build off of the new Fedora 44?
Is the experience generally seamless? Will my rig be compatible?
Also should I pick KDE or Gnome? I like Gnome but KDE also looks snappy, which one is better?
Admittedly, "unknown" is now the second largest desktop OS at 20%.
Just started and wanted to enhance the visuals a bit, does anyone know how to enable raytracing? Are there any other ways to enhance the visuals?
Also should I use a controller, I heard its recommended to play with a controller
Am I playing Dark Souls right? Can you even parry bosses? The main thing is I beat the boss so I'm happy about that, now I need to figure out what the hell is going on and where I should go next
For anyone who forgets why they are doing a specific misc/quest, here's the solution to your problems:

I was literally doing a quest and forgot exactly what it was about as it was 100 hours ago, then I replayed back the conversation in the dialogue history (voice journal) and boom, I recall who I was speaking to and where
This should be in ALL mod lists by default
I'm worried about poor performance but still happy to buy, is it ok just to launch the 1.5.3 version instead without denuvo? Anyone else do this for Denuvo games?
