I wish more gaming spaces understood that women don’t all play the same kinds of games

Sometimes it feels like people assume “girl gamer” automatically means cozy games only, or that we’re all into the exact same aesthetics/playstyles. Meanwhile women are out here playing literally everything. Horror games, competitive shooters, soulslikes, strategy games, racing sims, weird niche indie games, MMOs, all of it. I honestly love how diverse everyone’s tastes are in this sub compared to most gaming spaces online.

at what point does a “big open world” become a downside instead of a feature?

I used to love huge maps in games, but lately I feel like some open worlds are just… empty space with extra steps. Like, more travel time than actual gameplay. Do you still enjoy massive maps or do you prefer smaller but packed worlds?

Wild Rift really changes depending on your confidence level

I swear this game feels completely different depending on your mindset. Some matches I’m playing aggressively, landing combos, making plays, and everything just flows naturally.

Then after a few bad deaths in another game, suddenly I start second guessing every engage, missing easy mechanics, and playing way more passive than usual. It’s kinda interesting how much confidence affects performance in Wild Rift, especially in ranked. Sometimes the biggest difference between a good game and a terrible one is just mentality.

Are “starter packs” in mobile games actually worth it or just traps?

Almost every mobile game I download immediately shows a “limited starter pack” or “best value offer." I’ve always wondered, are these actually good value for players, or just designed to make spending feel normal early on? Do you ever buy them or just ignore them completely?

What’s a game everyone says is relaxing but stressed you out instead?

People kept recommending Stardew Valley to me as a chill game, meanwhile I was panicking about crop schedules, energy bars, relationships, fishing, and accidentally wasting entire days.

Made me realize some “cozy” games secretly feel like unpaid jobs depending on the player lol. Anyone else have a game like that?

SIB Cyberpunk 2077 now or should I wait longer?

I skipped Cyberpunk at launch because of all the issues back then, but lately I’ve been seeing a lot of people saying it’s completely different now. I’m mainly looking for a game I can really get immersed in with a strong world, good side quests, and fun progression.

I loved games like Witcher 3, RDR2, Ghost of Tsushima, and Mass Effect because they made the world feel alive and gave me stuff to do outside the main story. I also like customizing builds and exploring at my own pace.

My only concern is whether Cyberpunk actually feels polished now on PS5 and if the gameplay stays fun long term instead of becoming repetitive after a few hours. For people who played it recently, is it finally worth jumping into?

What’s your “can’t uninstall” mobile game?

I’ll download something that looks interesting, spend a few hours getting into it, maybe even enjoy the progression or mechanics at first. Then after a short while, I just stop opening it. Not because something “bad” happens, but more like the motivation quietly disappears. Trying to find something that actually sticks. Everything I try gets deleted after a while.
