Seeking Advice: Mounting my PC to a Hydraulic Tilting Rig (0-2.5m Travel + between 90 degrees and -20 degrees)
Hey everyone, I’m working on a project where my PC case needs to be mounted on the back of a hydraulic chair. It will travel vertically (0 to 2.5 meters) and tilt between 90 degrees and -20 degrees.
Here are my specs:
processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G
Ram: 8gb Corsair Ram Vengeance Lpx (x4)
Storage: kingston (2tb x1) (224 gb x1)
graphics card: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT (12 GB) (has a small lego pilar that soon will have Double sided tape on both ends to secure it in place)
Power: a 650W (cant remember brand)
Pc Case: Corsair Spec Delta Rgb
I'm worried about the physical stress on the components.
My Current Plan:
- Mounting: Removing the case feet and bolting the bottom of the case directly to a metal frame. Planning to add a top-side brace to prevent wobbling.
- GPU Support: Currently using a Lego pillar, but worried about the tilt. (will add double sided tape soon)
My Questions:
- Is bolting through the "feet" holes enough, or should I build a secondary cage for the case?
- What is the best way to lock the GPU in place so it doesn't snap the PCIe slot during a -20° tilt?
- Any tips?
