Update 2: Samsung's 'Sincerity' is a $1 Dollar Store Mug... while giving me NEW scratches on the screen in return! 🤡☕️

Hey everyone, remember my previous post that hit Top 3?

The "Free Repair" saga has reached a peak of absurdity. It’s no longer a tragedy, it’s a full-blown comedy show.

1. The "Apology" Gift:

As an apology for the lifting back panel and the original frame scratches, Samsung Japan sent me this... a generic, unbranded stainless mug that you can find at any 100-yen shop (Daiso/3-Coins) here in Japan. No Samsung logo, no style, and the box proudly screams "Made in China."

Is this Samsung admitting that Chinese $1 mugs have better quality control than their own $1,600 flagships? LMAO.

2. The "New" Repair Damage :

And the best part? They "fixed" the back, but returned the phone with these weird, wavy scratches all over the NEW front screen! .

I sent it in for a repair, but it came back with extra damage. It’s like they have a mandatory "scratch the screen" step in their official repair process.

Conclusion:

Samsung Japan really thinks they can settle 1,600 dollars worth of incompetence with a 1 dollar mug. 🤡

Is this the "Global Standard" of customer service now, or just #Scamscumg being itself?

Should I use this mug as a "weapon" or just laugh at the fact that I’m now a professional victim of their "Quality Assurance"?

"Update: Samsung promised a free repair after my post went viral, but they sent it back with a damaged screen! lol (DOCOMO/Samsung Japan Fail)"

Remember me? The guy with the DOCOMO Shop Funabashi repair disaster that went viral.

After my previous post started getting traction (thanks for the support, guys!), I finally got an email from Samsung Japan. They apologized and promised a free repair at their official center to fix the mess made by the Funabashi store.

I thought, "Great, finally some accountability!" I was wrong. lol

The "Repaired" Result (Look at 1000013897.jpg):

My Galaxy S25 just came back from the Samsung repair center today. I opened the box, and the first thing I saw was a scratch/defect right on the display (see 1000013897.jpg).

This screen was perfect when I sent it in. They were supposed to fix the previous "repair mistake," but instead, they just added more damage. Is this what Samsung calls "Official Service" in 2026? lol

The Ridiculous Part:

They even threw in a stainless steel mug again.

Samsung's Logic: "We scratched your screen (again), but hey, here's a cup! Please don't be mad!"

My Reality: I now have a damaged flagship and a collection of unwanted mugs.

I am absolutely done with Samsung Japan and DOCOMO. They talk big in emails when they’re afraid of bad PR, but their actual technicians clearly don't give a damn about the devices.

Watch out if you're dealing with DOCOMO Shop Funabashi or the official Samsung repair centers in Japan. They are apparently incapable of returning a phone without breaking something else.

Final Update: Samsung Admitted the "Double Tape" Mess! Free Full Housing Replacement + Apology Gift. Justice Served! lol

So, I just got off the phone with Samsung. Here’s the hilarious truth behind the "Glue-gate":

The Cause:

They admitted that the "gap" was caused by a technician failing to remove the old adhesive properly before applying a new layer. Yes, they literally just slapped a second layer of tape on top of the old one. As someone who works in the repair industry, I can tell you—that’s the definition of a "lazy hack job." lol

The Result:

Regarding the deep gouges on the frame, they said they "couldn't determine the cause," but they've agreed to replace the entire outer housing (frame and all) for FREE. Honestly, it's pretty obvious: when you do a "double tape" hack job, you’re either prying it open like a caveman or messing up the pressure during reassembly. That’s clearly when they scratched it.

The "Peace Offering":

They’re also throwing in a Samsung branded mug as an apology. lol. I guess 244k PVs of pressure makes them want to offer "gifts" to keep me quiet?

Reflecting on the journey:

I spent 3 hours waiting at the Docomo Shop in Funabashi just to be ignored... What a waste of life that was.

My advice to everyone:

If Samsung (or any big corp) gives you a BS response for their own mistakes—collect your evidence and blast it on Reddit. Don't let them gaslight you. When you have the truth (and a few hundred thousand people watching), they will cave.

Time to wait for my "new" phone and my new mug. Cheers to the 244k of you who stood with me!

Hey Reddit, here’s an update on the "Scamsung" drama.

As I showed you before (see the attached images), Samsung Japan messed up my back panel—it’s peeling off and scratched thanks to their "high-quality" service.

But guess what?

As soon as my previous post hit 36k views (it’s over 43k now, thanks guys! lol), Samsung suddenly had a change of heart. They sent me a frantic email saying, "We’ll repair the reported issues for free, please send it to our service center immediately."

They are clearly terrified of the global attention this is getting.

The Timeline of the Panic:

Day 1: My Reddit post goes viral.

Day 2: Samsung sends a 180-degree turnaround email offering free repair.

Yesterday: I called them to schedule the pickup.

Today: The courier just picked up the device.

I'm still keeping my guard up. If they try to blame me again or find some new excuse while it's at the service center, I will report it here immediately with even more evidence.

I’m expecting my device to come back in perfectly normal condition. Can Samsung actually satisfy me this time? Or will they provide more "premium" comedy for us? ww

Stay tuned. The fight isn't over until I have a perfect phone in my hand!

I sent my Galaxy in for an official repair, and it came back in a nightmare condition. Here is how a "certified" technician treated a premium flagship: Evidence of Botched Work: The back panel was lifting right after the repair. Even after a "re-fix," it’s still gapping. The "Impossible" Scratch: There’s a deep scratch on the internal frame. What’s suspicious? There are ZERO marks on the exterior. This is clearly a tool slip from the inside during their process, yet they are blaming ME for it. Water Resistance is Gone: The phone failed the internal barometer/pressure test. It’s no longer a sealed device, but they claim this is "within specification." Hostile Customer Service: They made me wait 3 hours just to tell me they won't take responsibility. They even tried to intimidate me by saying they’d charge extra if I kept complaining. I’m a long-time user, but seeing an official repair corner ruin a device and then lie about it to avoid liability is disgusting. They are destroying the Galaxy brand in Japan. I have already reported this to the Consumer Affairs Center and Samsung HQ. I will not let them slide with this "it's a spec" excuse.

UPDATE: The Store: DOCOMO Shop Funabashi (Samsung Authorized Service Center in Japan). Current Status: Both the store management and Samsung Japan are providing a completely insincere response. Despite the undeniable physical damage caused by their technician, they are hesitating to take responsibility and are attempting to dismiss it as "within specifications."
