Z Fold 4 One Ui 8 after april security patch green line
I thought this was never going to happen to me 💀

I thought this was never going to happen to me 💀
After 6 years of using my emerald green S10, it's finally time to upgrade! It's had a screen replacement, 2 battery replacements and a back glass replacement (technically needs another one).
I'm surprised at how capable it is in 2026 considing it's 7 years old! I was 13 when the S10 released :p.
I was stubborn about getting an upgrade because I "didnt want to waste money", but the battery life and performance wasnt good enough. I know you guys will appreciate the S10, but it's time to move on and send him back home (trade in scheme).
Pros
Device feels overall smooth and animations are smoother
Few good features like share to apple devices and the new notification bar looks good
New lockscreen with weather animation
Cons
The design in someplace looks extremely weird for eg the passcode option looks weird with a gradient effect on each number
Calculator feels like cheap Chinese app with glowing effect on each key
Battery icon looks greyish
Fresh out of the oven. Appeared right after the May security update.
So we all have been getting the message about having to switch to Google Messaging right? Im 63 and NOT good with tech at all. Anytime Ive replaced my phone, Ive always had my son set it up for me. Mind you EVERYONE ELSE in my family have iPhones. I've been a Samsung gal for a couple of decades now. But I might have to change. I just checked out the Google Messaging app we are being forced to download. It's just one bad review after another. Even the 3 star reviews are awful. It has an overall 4.4 review, which is lower than any app I have ever voluntarily downloaded. Who here has done the mandatory switch? (And if you haven't already, go read the terrible reviews..even from Google phone users!!) I'd like to hear from our community how they feel, before I abandon all hope, give up my Galaxy 26fe, and join team iPhone.
Edit: So I need to add that what I'm primarily concerned with is that MANY of the reviews talked of SLOW to send and receive messages. I don't actually care about the bells and whistles. But due to work circumstances, I VERY much need my messaging system to work with NO delays!
A green line just appeared on my One UI 8 S22 Ultra SCG14 Japanese variant.
I got One UI 8 in early December, and everything has been fine since.
But yesterday I installed the April security patch, and now I have this.
I never dropped it since I bought it 1.5 years ago, and just now I took it out of my pocket and saw a very faint, brightness-changed line there. I was looking at it when suddenly it turned into this bright green line almost in the center of the screen.
The phone was not dropped, hit, exposed to water, or overheated in the last two weeks.
I will book an appointment with my local Samsung certified repair center, but I do not expect to get a replacement as I am in Belarus, where customer protection just isn't there.
Is a green line caused by the OLED fiber cable breaking like on iPhones? Can it be laser welded back like with an iPhone?
So back in the days I used text select feature from the keyboard A LOT, but now it's gone with the latest update ;(
Idk if you know what I'm talking about, but if more context is needed: a tool where you can select text, cut, copy and paste etc.
Hello guys. I bought a Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus a month and a half ago and when it arrived it turned out to be the USA model instead of the European one. I'm going to return it since the listing clearly advertised the EU version, and I am also having problems with my camera (getting random errors).
The thing is, now I need to decide what to buy next. I'm considering the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE for €550 here in Spain, but I'm not sure if it's worth it or if I'm missing a better option. The base S25 goes for €689 here which feels crazy for what you get. And I know there are better options but I'm not buying off marketplace websites anymore. I don't trust them, and also, almost every phone in those webs is the USA model.
My budget is €600 max, I want to stay with Samsung, and my main uses are WhatsApp, some TikTok and photography. I don't do any heavy gaming too. What would you do?
Hi, im looking for help on how to create a shortcut (preferably in the control-panel) to turn off all my lights at home. When I read before bed I have a lamp on my beside table on and when I get tired I don't want to have to unlock the phone, open the Home app etc.
They're connected to google home since my partner doesn't have a samsung. I want to have a button in the control-panel that I only have to click ones and it turns all the lights off. Is they possible? Alternatively is there a way to create a routine that does exactly what I want?
After I updated my s24 Ultra the battery icon got this ugly long icon (dose that mean longer batterylife?) I tried finding a solution in good lock. Also the docs apps got smaller and they are even smaller when home up is on.
Hey everyone,
I bought a Samsung Galaxy A55 about a week ago, and so far I’ve been enjoying it. The display, battery life, cameras, and overall design feel really solid for the price.
But lately I’ve been wondering if it was the right choice long term, especially since newer phones like the A56 have longer software support and slightly better performance.
Do you think the A55 will still be a good and reliable phone for the next 4 years for everyday use, social media, photos, watching videos, and some gaming?
I’d love to hear opinions from current A55 users or people who know Samsung’s A series well. 👀
Edge is 1050$ and plus is 1300$ in my country. Which one is more viable? I am used to carrying a powerbank with me because of my old phone so I dont think battery capacity will be a problem. The lack of telephoto camera in edge is the main thing worrying me.
I'm new to samsung just bought my new s25u 2d ago 🥹 .
How do you guys safely update your phone. what are your go to steps and what things you would avoid ?
Edit-
thanks there was 2 updates . both went well 🥹 now it has 8.5UI. Thanks everyone
Updates didnt took much time as i thought it was so fast. Also didnt expect this much of heat too.
Got my first samsung flagship (S23+) in 2024, was planning to keep it for atleast 5 years. Then the first strike happened this year in april, line pink appear out of nowhere while im scrolling through tiktok. Ngl i was shocked, never thought my time would came as i always see this type of post here and twitter. Okay i calmed down and tried to be creative with my first pink line 🤣. But then samsung keep surprising me, 2nd green line...and today 3rd green line 🥲.
So, what are the chances of the S26 line up getting the same issue in the future? cause ive been thinking to upgrade but im scared of facing the same issue again. The thing is, im just a student, i saved my money from my own allowance for 6+ months in 2023/4 to get the S23+, so i dont wanna save my money again just to be dissapointed in the next 2 years of my use if i were to buy the S26 Ultra.
Ive been eyeing the Iphone 17 Pro, but im still not sure if i wanna leave samsung, i also have the tab S10 fe rn so im kinda in the ecosystem, but to justify i still can use my S23+ with it tho just not as my main. I know almost all phone brand have the same risk, but its mostly common in Samsung flagship, so maybe switching to iphone might be a decent idea?
Ps. im not gonna fix my S23+, its not worth it for me + theres no free replacement
EDIT: Pastebin updated to v2.0 — now 321 packages, validated on One UI 8.5: https://pastebin.com/FdfDYqZt
I performed an extreme debloat (291 packages) with Shizuku+Canta and here are the Antutu score and ranking, as well as the battery life of my Samsung Galaxy S24+ OneUI 8.0. What figures do you get?
⚠️ Warranty & Knox Status :
Many of you have asked if this method trips Knox or voids the warranty. I can confirm it does not. Since this uses Shizuku/Canta without rooting or modifying the bootloader, my device remains 100% stock. Click here for proof of status
⚠️ DISCLAIMER & METHODOLOGY :
Below is the list of the 291 packages I uninstalled via Canta to achieve these results (2.1M AnTuTuscore / 38°C max). Please note that this configuration is radical and tailored to my specific workflow.
Required Alternatives: I have removed core system apps (Camera, Gallery, Keyboard, etc.) on Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus. If you apply this list, ensure you have installed your preferred alternatives (GCam, third-party galleries, etc.) before removing the Samsung services.
Customization is Key: This list is not a "one-size-fits-all" script. It is a starting point. Please review the list carefully and keep the packages you actually need based on your own usage.
Responsibility: Perform a full backup of your data before proceeding. I am not responsible for any "bricks," data loss, or system instabilities resulting from your choices.
For those wondering how I achieved this score: it's simple. My processor is no longer wasting 30% of its cycles managing useless services, telemetry, and proprietary background bloat. The result? Less heat, better responsiveness, and a battery that lasts 11+ hours of SoT.
If you want to do the same, here is the full list of packages I safely removed (via Shizuku/Canta): https://pastebin.com/FdfDYqZt Knowledge is a tool; use it with caution.*
⚠️ SAFETY & REVERSIBILITY :
Worried about removing too much? Don't be. Because we are using Shizuku/Canta, these changes are fully reversible. If you accidentally remove a package you need, simply open Canta, go to your 'Uninstalled' list, select the app, and hit Restore. No root required, no Knox tripped, and your system remains perfectly intact.
Setting custom gestures in Good Lock > Home Up > Gesture Settings breaks the animation and makes it soooo laggy. On top of that if I enable the Icon Blur or the Background Blur, the animation stutters like it's running at 2-3 FPS (yes, you read that right). And before someone says, all good lock modules are updated for OneUI 8.5.
Even apart from that, the animations are so inconsistent. On some places, it's smooth as butter, but in other cases (especially opening/closing widgets), it's so bad with severe FPS drops.
I don't even need to slow it down to be able to see the issue.
I really wish they'd take even more time to iron out the clearly visible glitches, rather than the unpolished mess that we're stuck with until OneUI 9.0 comes out.
Anybody experiencing the same bug? Any fix for this? Thank you
