Spent 6 weeks interviewing just for the company to remove the role

I’ve been actively looking for a full-time job relevant to my field for about 2 years now while working casually, and just when I thought I finally had some hope, I got taken for a ride.

I went through 3 rounds of interviews over about 6 weeks for a junior role. I was told I did really well, and that the senior producers liked me. Then I got the call saying the role was being put on hold and they were suspending new hires due to overhead cost issues, partly because their clients, Audi and Volkswagen, apparently aren’t releasing enough cars this year (something among those lines).

They directly told me the issue wasn’t me, and that no one was hired for the role. Is that the whole truth? Do companies usually say this when they’ve chosen someone else, or am I just shit out of luck?

Yall were right about the aluminum

I hate bulky cases so I’ve been using the Moft Movas Snap case for my 17 PM.

I’ve dropped it twice (well more than twice if we consider slipping off my hands onto desks) from a maybe around 3-4ft and that has resulted in 2 visible dents in the corner. I thought everyone was exaggerating about how soft the aluminum is but yall were right.

I’m assuming Apple wouldn’t do anything about this even with Apple Care+ right?

How are NFC payments on the Xiaomi Watch S4?

Does it work with any Mastercard/Visa card, or only certain banks/regions? If not, do Revolut or Wise cards work with it?

I’m based in Australia, so I’m especially curious if anyone here has got it working.

I understand that it launched in China on March 19 but saw nothing about a global release.

The Watch S4 was released globally with iOS support and NFC payments so can we expect the same with the S5?

I know Zepp Pay isn’t officially available in Australia, and seems unavailable in places like Canada and the US too.

Has anyone found a working workaround, like changing the region or using a VPN, since most Australian debit/credit cards are Mastercard or Visa anyway?

Also, does Zepp Pay need Curve to work, or can it support other cards directly depending on the country? Has anyone in Australia had success using Wise, Revolut, Curve, or any other international card?

I’ve tried using disinfectant wipes, but they don’t remove these baked-on grease/food stains around the heating/grill area.

I’m not trying to deep-clean the electrical parts or soak the PowerPod, just remove the visible staining.

We plan on doing a return trip hike through Charlotte Pass and are not too keen on camping on the trail overnight.

Are there any drive-in campsites nearby that we can go to after the hike?
