Why do people (men and women alike) feel the need to humble women with confidence?

A few years ago, I weighed a lot more than I do now. I have always been confident about my looks, no matter my weight. However, since I lost weight, I find that men and women are a lot more hostile to me than they were before. I feel like I have to "play" down my appearance a lot more than I did when I was bigger. I've had more rumors spread about me and my body than I ever have.

I really wonder why we put ourselves in this position -- it's almost like we can never let people feel good about themselves. It makes me sad, really. This kind of hostility from others just means that you learn to take meanness and jealousy as "good" things because it means you are looking so good that it makes others upset.

I know that there are worse things happening in the world, but it's sad that even in "peaceful" places, we can't have peace lol.

Spent 6 weeks interviewing for a job. I was told that I was the frontrunner, but I had bad vibes with the final round interviewer. Didn't hear back from the company until two weeks later and two follow-up emails.

They told me that they were still "finalizing decisions and that there may be an another role that I am in consideration for". Very vague, didn't tell me outright that I didn't get the current role that I applied for.

What do you all think? What are my chances of getting any offer from this company?

What are good alternatives to Uber and UberEats? Let's brainstorm alternatives and help other companies thrive in this good ol' free market :)

EDIT: Didn't know that there were so many Uber bootlickers in this reddit. Look at you all good little corporate simps. Goodness, if Uber asked you all to bend over, I bet you would, wouldn't you?
