First home studio, am I forgetting something?

I already have the headphones, guitar and guitar cables. I never had a laptop and I was wondering if I was missing something

Hi everyone!

I'm an intermediate-level guitarist and I'm looking to get my first MIDI keyboard to help with my music production (mostly for drums and piano/synth parts).

My main concern is that I’d also like to use it to actually practice and learn some proper piano technique along the way.

As a guitarist, will I regret getting the mini keys? Is it possible to learn "piano" on them, or should I go straight for the standard size to build the right muscle memory?

Hi everyone,

I’m a beginner/intermediate guitarist and I’m currently setting up a very basic, entry-level home studio to record and produce music for fun.

My main instrument is the guitar, and to be honest, I don’t know how to play the piano at all. I’m debating whether it makes sense to buy a cheap MIDI controller to write parts for piano, synths, and drums, or if I should just stick to drawing notes in the DAW with my mouse.

And if you think I should buy it, which one would you suggest me to take?

I’m a beginner/intermediate guitarist starting my journey into music production. My current setup is pretty straightforward: Guitar -> Audio Interface -> Reaper, using various plugins for amps and virtual instruments.

I recently found a Launchpad MK2 at home and I'm debating whether to keep it or sell it to fund other gear (like better plugins or mic cables).

Since Reaper is a linear DAW and I mostly focus on guitar-based music, is the Launchpad actually useful? Can it be integrated well into a Reaper workflow for someone who isn't doing live electronic sets, or would I be better off just using my mouse and keyboard for MIDI programming?

I’d love to hear from any guitarists or Reaper users who use a Launchpad. Is it a game-changer for drums and shortcuts, or just extra desk clutter for my specific needs?

Thanks in advance!
