It's very common for people to put their favorite characters as the top of the verse, disregarding pieces of evidence that go against it, why is that?

Like for me:

Shanks is a better character but Mihawk is probably stronger or like Kuma being on my top 3 but he is not near the top.

Luffy coating his fist with lightning against Sommers, Luffy straight up using lightnings and Loki being able to do lightning attacks.

On top of us knowing that a metal heart is what enables inmortality, it just makes sense.

What do y'all think?

I was trying to figure out where did the percieved powercreep began in the community.

And it all comes back to Xebec. When people assume that Xebec level in GV was just as strong as Prime Roger, Primebeard and Prime Garp, we can see a problem.

Because in just one flashback we went from Luffy being on admiral level to him having surpassed Roger, because of this logic.

If Xebec = Roger, then:

Roger = Xebec = Harald < HK Harald < Loki

This is why we now have this postures:

1. Kaido is fodder, because he is weaker than Roger who is weaker than Loki.

2. Kizaru destroys any Yonko, because he is on Luffy's level who is on Loki's level who is at the very top of the verse.

3. Imu neg diffs Roger, because he is fighting Loki who is much more powerful than Roger.

4. Shanks god tier level, because he defeated Loki.

And the powerscale is broken. But all of this would make sense again if we assume that Xebec was not as strong as the Prime Oldgen, which is also implied and we have Luffy again at admiral level.

The disrespect to the WSM, The Hero of the Marines and the King of the Pirates is getting out of hand.

Having all this statements and his sky split against Shanks makes him the most stated not only top tier but most stated to be the strongest on the entire verse.

Also he has his clash against Roger on his prime which is seemingly the most powerful clash to date.

The reality is that everyone follows an agenda, I truly try to be as impartial as possible in order to scale properly, but I personally follow the WB agenda. (As little as I can fr)

But there is nothing that keeps me from thinking that Oldbeard on meds could still be the WSM.

Do you think that disregarding WB's title is because of an agenda? Or do you think that it is the proper thing to do in order to powerscale correctly

For me it has to be to discrediting the narrator and claiming they're not omniscient.

Or, inflate one character strenght in order to scale their favorite character above any other.

Here's mine:

1, 2 and 3 (No specific order): Kuma, Luffy and Whitebeard.

4: Garp

5: Rocks

6: Shanks

7: Blackbeard

8: Loki

9: Zoro

10: Sanji

1. The old Oldgen is stronger than GV oldgen.
2. Luffy >≈ Kizaru ≈ Old Gaban ≈ Old Rayleigh .
3. Old Whitebeard with meds still was the World Strongest Man.
4. Mihawk >≈ Shanks.
5. If Imu and Joyboy are stronger than other top tiers, is just by ancient hax or unexplained things. Not by having stronger haki.
6. Kaido is still stronger than actual Luffy.
7. Luffy is still low to mid Yonko level.
8. EOS Luffy (A 20 year old) is going to be on the same level of power than Shanks, Roger, Garp, etc. But with better hax.
9. Base Rocks and Harald are top Mid Yonko tiers. (I forgot to add this one)

I'll be also ranking Shanks and Mihawk because is my post and I want to.

1. Whitebeard (3 types of haki, the most destructive paramecia and a supreme grade blade)

2. Roger (3 types of haki and a supreme grade blade)

3. Garp (3 types of haki)

4. Kaido (Top portrayals in the series and busted in every category)

5. Mihawk (World Strongest Swordsman)

6. Shanks (A beast like his former captain)

7. Big Mom (Prime Big Mom was an absolute menace)

8. Davy D. Xebec (Good portrayal and feats while also being the most powerful on his era)

9. King Harald (Was able to match Xebec)

10. Sengoku (Not enough feats so he could be lower, just a Roger line. Nontheless he is very strong)

11. Silvers Rayleigh (Strong portrayal and very good feats as an oldman)

12. Scopper Gaban (Same as Rayleigh)

13. Saint Figarland Garling (Boosted by Imu when he became a member of the Gorosei)

14. Golden Lion Shiki (Not CoC confirmed and no feats but stated to be very strong)

15. Silver Axe Kyo (Rival of Shiki)

All of this characters are very powerful, and are at least a high diff fight for any other in the top.

Notes:

- If you take in account DR Rocks I'd put him at 1, HK Harald has no feats to scale him properly.

- Sengoku and Shiki give me doubts, feel free to comment what you think about them.
