Don’t assume that other Vets have your best interest at heart or won’t stab you in the back. I just had another male student who’s a vet report me for “disruptive behavior” for “making sexually inappropriate remarks” through out the semester. Same Vet that I ate lunch together will everyday we had classes together, same Vet I offered to drive to the airport, same Vet I offered to remove a tree stump from his yard. The only thing I believe I said that was in the wrong but believed we had the same morals / values was that he was going to be cranking his hog because his wife was out of town. But he never brought it up, said it bothered him, and apparently I said more than one wrong thing to him. Anyways I have a meeting with the Dean so don’t be like me and assume that other Vets are any better than anyone else or are automatically going to have the same sense of humor.

Preface, I’ve been sober a year since I had my last drink and did what anyone else in the military does when the get out; smoked some weed. Quit that about 3-4 months after getting sober.

Moved across the country, had been to AA meetings with my old drinking buddy who got sober and believe in the program just sort of waited to start it at my new home.

My father knew I believed in the program and has been sober for 2ish months now because how saw how I saw the effects faith and sobriety had in my best friend. So after my mother gave him a long overdue ultimatum he called my best friend. I was about in tears when he told me he had decided to stop drinking and to call my best friend.

I asked my friend what should my father’s next step be? And he said to get a sponsor. So of course i recommended that to my father but felt as if who am I to recommend something I haven’t or didn’t do.

So I decided to take the plunge myself.

First meeting at the group a similar aged man approached me and asked if I wanted to go to a meeting the next day because it was a group he liked. I said yes and went, met him there got to chatting outside and decided to commit to the bit and get a sponsor to walk the steps to become a better version of myself.

It’s been an about a month, one meeting once before the group and he had to travel one week for work which I understand was out of his control. All in all I haven’t been tasked with reading, learning, or working the steps just asked how I’m doing which I’m doing ok but I see so many others in the group with IT and I want that. I think it’s frowned upon to go “sponsor shopping” but my goal is not to get a new sponsor who will just promote me through the steps but one who will guide / help foster personal development through the steps. Opinions?

Had what I believe is no effects from taking 450mg of XL for the last 10 months, doc RXd it in place of adderall because I was doing some recreational THC. Quit the TCH approx 8 months ago, got back on Adderall at 5mg XL and titrated to 10mg XL then 15mg XL over the last 6 months. I barely feel any effects of the Adderall no improved focus motivation or energy. Given I had no positive effects from Wellbutrin I’m thinking of discontinuing it with medical supervision and support. Am I crazy for not having any positive effects from Wellbutrin at that dose? I’m 6’5” 230lbs 30 Y/O male to help with the dosing.
