I think i'm dropping the show, am I being unfair?

Honestly the shows premise hooked me so quicky but they've done things over and over that have led me to just be disappointed.

My first problem is Amanda Wagner and how they failed her charachter. There really wasnt any growth for her throughout the series. They hinted towards her being bi for 4 seasons before they finally had her in a same sex relationship (which was really bad and messy btw) and then they killed her off 2 episodes later not even finishing her charachter arc, idk its a little weird to me.

Second, the black woman named Cricket who is in season 2 episode 1. She died bc of a bomb but she would have been such an intresting love intrest for Will. So Will's love new intrest is played by Gina Rodriguez who is a racist actress... amazing!

The BIG reason:

Then we have season 4 episode 14 which I would call an absolute mess. You have a black women concerned about her son who has a medical history and she states that "doctors like you dont care about patients like me" (I'm paraphrasing a bit) which is her alluding to a true fact that there are white doctors who do not care about black patients.

Instead of properally adressing this, they make the mom follow the angry black women stereotype going insane and being rude to every character. When movies like John Q exist its upsetting to see a tv series take 10 steps back.

These arent really issues just things i do not like:

Seth is dead and i genuinely dont want to see Will and Angie together bc they are toxic together and its just not fun.

Im tried of everyones boyfriends being a secret criminal (now that I think about it thats just the black women, Faith and Amanda... huh)

Faithwood is probs not happening cuz they dont see. like interracial relationships (just making an educated guess)

Sometime i nitpick though and it is really cpol they have a very diverse cast but it's just been feeling off so pls let me know if u guys agree or think im being unfair.

Book about a kid who goes to stay with his aunt after his mom has a mental health crisis and we find out he has a dead twin brother.

I read this like pre covid i think

It cant be too old bc theres a distinct chapter where he is looking at photos of him and his mother on his moms ipad

He grew up with his mom and didnt know his dad (I'm pretty sure) but we find out its because he was a twin and the younger brother drowned when the dad wasnt paying attention and that caused the parents to spit

Also im pretty sure the aunt and mom fought to date the dad but that wasnt like a huge part cuz the aunt married someone else and had kids w that person too

So hes also staying w cousins but i dont recall them having a huge roll

I think the cover was blue and it was like a novel or something

When he sees his mom again i'm pretty sure she was swimming somewheres, had to do w the brother drowning im guessing

If its any help i got it at a public library in Ontatio, Canada

This books been on my mind for a while and I just can't seem to remember it so hopefully someone else knows it😭

Spoilers if u haven't watched 9×17 and the episode 18 promo!

Going into the next episode Athena and Eddie have both been shot, which I find very interesting because I feel like there may be something deeper.

At the start of this season both charachters display signs of suicide, but in different ways. Athena in space wants to just stay up with Bobby because she believes there is no one left for her on earth until she realizes Bobby isnt in space and she does have a family there for her on earth.

Likewise, before Athena even goes to space Eddie jumps off a bridge to save the man who sends Athena to space. Now originally I didn't think much about this but in the episode "Mother's Child" Buck accuses Eddie of having a death wish for jumping off the bridge which is very intresting.

I'd also like to add that due to this I dont think they can die because their charachters need to grow from this and having one or both of them die would be extremely alarming and off.

Idk though, i feel like I'm at the edge of something about them both sharing suicidal (even though I dont think Eddie was really suicidal) thoughts and both being the people who are shot and trying to survive but I am missing something so if you can add anything to my work in progress theory thaw would be great :)
