No audio in OBS from USB capture device

I'm using an HDMI to USB3.0 capture device to input video and audio into OBS, but I am not registering any audio input in the program.

I have confirmed that the audio from the source is reaching the computer, as I can monitor it through the computer's sound devices directly. But in OBS, I have set up the audio input, and it does not register any levels, nor can I hear anything when the input is set to monitor.

I can, however, get audio in OBS from the desktop as an input, so as a temporary workaround I have been able to use this as the audio to record with my video, but if possible I would prefer to resolve the core problem and record the audio directly from the capture device.

I've tried all the basic settings recommendations that I've found online when researching this issue, but none of them have worked.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

Problems with USB 3.0 Video Converter

On a Windows 10 laptop, I am attempting to use a generic HDMI to USB 3.0 Video converter/capture device with OBS Studio. However, Windows is reporting that it cannot start the device, and so cannot detect any input from it. The problem persists with or without running OBS Studio, so it appears to be a Windows driver problem.

I have previously successfully used this same piece of hardware with this same computer and software, and had no issues. I am not aware of any changes or updates since the last time I used this hardware, so I do not know why it would stop working now.

Here is a capture of my Device Manager, showing the "USB3.0 Video" device under the "Cameras" section, with the error icon.

Here are catpures of the device properties and driver file details:

The full event details includes the following information:

>Device USB\VID_345F&PID_2130&MI_00\9&1346e323&2&0000 had a problem starting.

>Driver Name: usbvideo.inf
Class Guid: {ca3e7ab9-b4c3-4ae6-8251-579ef933890f}
Service: usbvideo
Lower Filters: WdmCompanionFilter
Upper Filters:
Problem: 0xA
Problem Status: 0xC0000001

I have attempted to update the driver, but Windows indicates that the most current version of the driver is already installed. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver multiple times, with and without a system reboot.

Searching the internet has not turned up a viable solution so far. One source indicated that the WdmCompanionFilter.sys driver may be the culprit for the conflict, but I have not been able to find a reliable method to disable or remove it in order to test this.

Any help or advice as to how to solve this would be appreciated!
