Melee Companions
My infantry Captains don’t seem to ever survive a full battle and when they do they have very low kills,
I’m quite late game and have gotten the best armour for them, originally they were armed with a poll-arm for anti cav and a shield and a high end sword for infantry fighting but have switched them to shield and sword and two stacks of javs because they were trying to use their spears in close up fights, but they still are getting taken out fairly quickly and getting no kills, I read that maces are the way to go but haven’t had much success before with them.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to make these poor bastards more effective.
Update: thanks for the feedback I’ve done so smithing and crafted so wicked maces for my companions, will see if that’s makes a difference
