In Islam, there is a powerful and beautiful Hadith found in Sahih Muslim that directly addresses your struggle with hardship and your fear that you might "lose" the reward of it.The Prophet Muhammad said that on the Day of Judgement, the person who suffered the most miserable life in this world will be brought forward. Allah will command the angels to dip this person once into Paradise.

After just one moment in Jannah, Allah will ask him: "O son of Adam, did you ever face any hardship? Did you ever experience any distress?"

The person will reply: "No, by Allah, my Lord! I never saw any hardship and I never experienced any difficulty"

This "dip" doesn't just compensate for your pain; it completely erases the memory of it. The intensity of Jannah's peace is so overwhelming that even the hardest life on earth feels like it never happened. Another Hadith mentions that those who lived in ease and prosperity in this world will wish they had been tested with trials, even to the point of having their skin "torn away with shears" when they see the massive rewards given to those who suffered.
