Front garden beds suggestions

Friend bought her first house and is looking for suggestions for her front garden bed. On the very far right there is an azalea bush that she is definitely leaving. On the big flower bed we were thinking of a small weeping ornamental tree centered with the big empty wall where the fireplace is. Anysuggestions? We are in Idaho which is a super dry climate with hot summers and cold winters. And the house is north or south facing.

Show me your 24x12x12 builds please.

I am finally going to gut my crested geckos terrarium and build a custom background on 2 sides of the glass. I have been avoiding it because of creative mind blocks every time I start to envision it haha. Can you guys show me pictures of your 24 inch enclosures for inspiration please and thank you.

Advice on stairs railing, please.

I’m finishing my stairs and I have the most awkward wall and I need to work with what I’ve got.

If I start the railing at the top of the stairs, it just looks off next to the wall. But if I start it lower on a step, it leaves a pretty big open gap at the bottom that also feels weird.

I feel like I’m stuck between two not great options what looks better vs. what actually makes sense.

Has anyone dealt with something like this? Where would you start the railing? Open to any ideas or suggestions!
