Some more beauties recently opened in my tiny iris garden! I think the "no id" one might be war chief
Last night I had a dream that I came crawling out of some little door to a tunnel under some random farm house in the country with corn all around me. Once I stepped into the corn, I all of a sudden was in a decent sized city, downtown. And of in the not far distance was a big mountain, one which lots people in the area drove over going to and from work. But, it was actually a volcano because all of a sudden it started erupting dark ash and rocks that shot up like hundreds of feet into the sky. People around me noticed and were looking at it, all amused like, but no one was freaking out like I was, or were concerned about all the commuters currently driving over it. I started running away and looked back and saw people getting smashed by these huge boulders that were falling from the sky or getting buried by the ash and rocks. Then I woke up.
*off topic... what is "flair"? Auto mod said to add "flair" to my post.
This is an occupied bat house on the back side of my garage probably 15 feet up and it's been slowly falling off the wall for the past three years now. Is it safe for me to fix this at night, after they leave? Does every bat leave every night, typically? Because of the angle it's at, I'm not able to look up inside of it with a flashlight. And one i do fix it, will my smell on it cause them to abandon it? I love having bats and don't want to scare them off or hurt any.
I'm in northern California

THANK YOU!! Honestly, I'm so glad I found this sub!
In the past year my iris garden suffered two catastrophes, which I thought I had straightened out, but apparently I did not.
First, last spring, I made a fatal mistake and stupidly sprayed weeds that had popped up amongst them. I was super careful and only did little drops on the weeds with no over spray, but even that was too much for their roots. Look... https://imgur.com/gallery/oF6nuLZ And it got way worse then that.
I was so disgusted with myself that I prematurely removed and tossed the labels of the ones I knew would die. But come this spring, a bunch actually came back! Only now I didn't know which ones were what. And then others I thought would be OK, are now just labels on an empty patch of dirt.
If that wasn't bad enough, a couple months ago I discovered that the labels on probably 1/4 of them had been removed! (the street side ones) I'm 98% sure I know who did it, but I didn't have cameras. I do now tho, for what it's worth.
So, much of my labeling is guess work, currently, since there's really no method to my planting. I only have my list of names and my memory of around where they were planted. But I have over 50 types planted in a 12'x10' area, so it's been difficult.
To answer the question, I buy my irises from a number of different places...Schriners (?) Gardens, Nolas iris garden, Brecks, Beehaven Iris garden and Ebay, (but that's always a gamble).
I'd love some help figuring out which ones are what. I have others I didn't even attempt to label that I can post pics of. But based on what's been pointed out already, I have been able to figure out some of my mistakes, while a few others that were pointed out I know are actually correct. Like Jurassic Park, red hot chili, Presbys crown jewel, cherry blossom song.
If I post more pics, would you help?
