Softscape Demo is finally live on Itch!

After months of working on this project mostly by myself, I finally released the first public demo for my game Softscape 🌱

It’s a relaxing first person gardening sandbox about restoring empty urban spaces into calm green environments. You place irrigation, landscape the terrain, plant trees/shrubs/flowers, and slowly transform the whole area into something peaceful.

Honestly, I started building this because I felt like there weren’t many sandbox games that just let you relax and create at your own pace without pressure.

The demo is already playable on itch.io, and the Steam demo should hopefully be approved in the next few days as well.

If anyone here gives it a try, I’d genuinely love to know what you think about it. I’m still actively improving the game, so feedback is massively appreciated. And if you’d just like to support a solo indie dev trying to get his game out there, wishlisting on Steam would help tremendously as you know:)

Hi all, I just edited a new version of my game trailer, but I wonder if it explains what my game actually is properly to people who don’t know about it before hand?

I don’t want to tell you what it is about yet, I simply would like to hear what your theories are based on what you see please! :)

P.s. any other feedback on the trailer is greatly appreciated, making a trailer is not my forte. The previous version was too slow pace, but had captured the ambience I was going for.

I’m watching a horror film right now and the thought popped into my mind, what is the scariest image ChatGPT can conjure up?

I did not expect it to be this detailed with just a single prompt…

Let’s see what your ChatGPTs produce with the same prompt:

Generate an image of the most horrifying, scary thing that you can think of.

I have been working on a solo project in Unity called Softscape and just reached the point where the demo is nearly ready for Steam Next Fest on PC and Mac

The idea is simple. You start with empty and lifeless spaces and slowly bring them back to life by building irrigation, placing plants, and shaping the environment

It is meant to be a relaxing and satisfying experience rather than something stressful or difficult

I have been focusing a lot on small details like placement, pathing, and making everything feel smooth and intentional

I would genuinely love to know what you think and if this is something you would play too? :)
