Layton vs Layton Exclusif – Which one would you keep

Layton vs Layton Exclusif – Which one would you keep

I’m trying to choose between Parfums de Marly Layton and Layton Exclusif.

I love both. Layton is clearly more versatile and easier to wear, but I’m also really attracted to the extra depth and richness of Layton Exclusif.

I also got the impression that Layton has slightly weaker longevity on my skin, while Layton Exclusif seems to last longer.

For those who own or have tried both, which one would you choose and why? Have you noticed better performance from Layton Exclusif as well?

Thanks !

Looking for Amouage-Level Complexity and an Interlude Black Iris Alternative

I've recently fallen in love with Amouage, and now many of my other niche fragrances feel a bit too simple in comparison.

  1. Can you recommend other perfume houses that offer the same level of complexity, depth, and richness as Amouage?

  2. I absolutely love Amouage Interlude Black Iris. It feels magical and incredibly comforting, but it's a bit too oriental for me to wear often. Is there a fragrance with a similar dark, sophisticated, and smooth vibe, but in a less oriental direction? (I know its tricky)

Thanks in advance for your recommendations!

Hey everyone,
I’m new to espresso and using a De’Longhi Dedica with a non-pressurized portafilter (plus WDT, tamper, leveling tool).
My grinder isn’t fine enough, so for now I get beans ground at a local shop on a Fiorenzato F64 Evo. I’ve asked them to go finer each time (4th try now), but my shots still run too fast, with some channeling and messy pucks.
To be honest, the shop owner didn’t seem very dialed in. At first he gave me a really coarse, oily grind and seemed unsure what a non-pressurized portafilter implies. So I’d rather ask here.
Any idea what grind setting I should aim for on that grinder, or how to guide them better?
Thanks!

Hey everyone.

At my last appointment, the assistant told me I was on my final tray. That said, she also mentioned there will probably be some refinements afterward, which I’m definitely hoping for, because to me, it feels like I’m still far from being done.
The tricky part is that my orthodontist is currently away due to health issues. I genuinely wish her well, but at the same time, it does make things a bit frustrating on my end not knowing exactly what’s next or how long this phase might last.
So I had a couple of questions for those who’ve been through this:
Roughly how long did your refinement phase take after your “last tray”?
Is it usually quick, or can it drag on for months?
Also… I’ve been noticing some pretty ugly brown stains on my teeth, especially noticeable when I’m not wearing my aligners. It’s honestly quite embarrassing.
Has anyone experienced this?
Could it be from coffee or something else?

Appreciate any insight , trying to stay patient, but you know how it is.
Thanks 🙏
