Do you think Motorola phones are worth it?

Considering the Motorola Edge 70, But I am skeptical given their reputation about quality control, after sales service, delayed software updates, and software updates causing phones to lag/drain batteries/stuck at bootup/bricking motherboards. Do you think it is a good idea to go with Motorola in their current state? I wanna keep the phone for 4-5 years.

Are Motorola phones even worth buying in India anymore?

I've been looking at the Edge 70 and it checks a lot of boxes for me on paper, but Motorola's reputation in India has been pretty rough lately, and I'm genuinely unsure whether to pull the trigger.

My main concerns are:

  • After-sales service quality
  • UI bugs and general software stability
  • Phones slowing down after a few months
  • Delayed updates, and more importantly, updates that have bricked some devices (the Android 16 situation has me especially nervous)
  • Battery degradation over time, which I've heard is a weak point for Motorola

I want this phone to last me at least 4 years, so long-term reliability matters a lot to me. Delayed updates I can live with, what I can't live with is an update killing my phone entirely.

Would love to hear from current Motorola users: how has your experience been with UI stability, after-sales support, and how well the phone holds up over time?

Yes, I have used AI to rephrase and give my post a better structure, Thank you.

Galaxy A37 usable for next 4-5 years?

I am a very light user, just social media and browsing and youtube, netflix etc. I can deal with the phone getting slow or stuttering or lagging, as I'm used to it, but I wanna use it for at least 4 years, will it be able to function without hanging all the time in 4 years time? The pricing in my region is really good, I am getting the phone 8/256 for around 250$.

Torn between Samsung Galaxy M56 and Motorola Edge 70, need help deciding

I'm planning to buy a new phone and intend to keep it for at least 4 years.

My usage: I'm a light user, mostly social media, browsing, and occasional multitasking like Google Maps + Spotify + Instagram running simultaneously. I can tolerate minor slowdowns, lag, or stutters, but what I absolutely cannot deal with is the phone becoming completely unresponsive and hanging.

The two options I'm considering:

  • Samsung Galaxy M56 (Exynos 1480)
  • Motorola Edge 70 (Snapdragon 7 Gen 4)

Here's my dilemma:

Samsung promises OS updates up to Android 21, which sounds great on paper, but I'm not confident the Exynos 1480 is capable enough to handle later Android versions smoothly, especially since OneUI is already on the heavier side as far as Android skins go. On top of that, Samsung has a known green line issue with their displays, which makes me nervous about long-term reliability.

Motorola, on the other hand, only guarantees updates until Android 19. However, I'm fairly confident the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 can handle Android 19 without breaking a sweat. That said, Motorola has had a pretty bad reputation lately, especially in India, their after-sales service and software update track record have been questionable. I recently came across a post claiming that an Android 16 update bricked the motherboards of some Motorola phones, which is honestly alarming.

So here I am, scared of both options for different reasons.

Any insights and advice would be hugely appreciated!

TL;DR: Choosing between Samsung Galaxy M56 (Exynos 1480) and Motorola Edge 70 (Snapdragon 7 Gen 4) for a 4-year keep. Samsung has better software support and UI but uncertain long-term performance and display issues. Motorola has a more capable chip for its update window but has a worrying reputation for after-sales service and buggy updates in India. Can't decide, need advice!

Yes, I have used AI but only for rephrasing my paragraph and giving it a better structure. Thank You.

Samsung Galaxy M56 or Motorola Edge 70?

I am planning to upgrade my 5 year old redmi note 10s, After intensive research, I concluded that my two options are Samsung Galaxy M56 and Motorola Edge 70, M56 has Exynos 1480 while Moto has SD 7 Gen 4. Everything else is pretty similar. Basically what I can infer from this situation is, if I go samsung, I am compromising performance, and if I go Moto, I am compromising Software experience. Another concern of mine is that samsung is gonna drop updates until Android 21 on the M56, and I dont know if the weak processor will be able to handle later OneUI versions as OneUI is already a heavy skin, and I wanna keep the phone for 4 years atleast, while motorola will give update until android 19, and I'm pretty confident the 7 Gen 4 will be able to handle those. What are y'alls opinions?

I mean where are the upgrades? All I see are downgrades? Performance is significantly worse, camera system is significantly worse, there's also shorter software support, which means last year's nord ce 5 will receive updates for longer? wth? the only upgrades I see are in the display, speakers, and battery? but when we compare the whole package to the oneplus nord ce 5, isn't this phone a massive downgrade? why would anyone wanna buy this over Nord CE 5? Can anyone explain ts to me?

I am planning to buy a new phone, and I am looking at the Samsung Galaxy A26 with the Exynos 1380 and 8GB RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, and 5000 mAh battery, I plan to keep the phone for 4 years. I am a light user, I only use social media and browser, the most multitasking I have to do is something like GMaps + Spotify + Instagram + Chrome. I can deal with the phone feeling a little slow, but I cant deal with the phone hanging or choking on me or background apps like spotify or gmaps closing. Part of the reason why I am not sure is that samsung is gonna drop software updates for 6 years on this thing, and I dont know if the old chipset and 8GB RAM will be able to handle the software updates. Will this phone do it for me or do I need to stretch my budget?
