MVP and Hormones
Hey guys. Two part post
Part 1 — MVP + PVCs
Does anyone else with mitral valve prolapse without regurgitation?
I’m 28F with MVP and long-standing PVCs. I’ve had extensive cardiac testing including echos, CT angiogram, multiple EKGs, and a recent normal treadmill stress test, but I still get periods where my PVCs flare badly.
Sometimes they happen every few beats for hours, then randomly disappear for days. I feel them HARD too — chest, throat, even stomach flips. They’re mentally exhausting.
For people with MVP:
Did your cardiologist think the MVP itself contributed to your PVCs?
Do your PVCs come in waves?
Do they feel stronger during stress or at night?
Did anything actually help calm them down?
Part 2 — Hormones + PVCs
I also feel like my hormones massively affect my PVCs.
I notice huge increases:
- around ovulation
- during the luteal phase
- right before my period
When they flare hormonally, I also get:
- severe exhaustion
- low HRV
- chest tightness
- adrenaline surges
- Blood rushing feeling to my face and arms and chest
For women dealing with hormonal PVCs:
Did you find out what was causing it?
Did iron deficiency/ferritin end up being part of it?
Did anything help stabilize them?
Does anyone else get intense fatigue with their PVC flares?
Trying to figure out if other people experience this same pattern. Please help. I hope this isn’t too late at night to post.
