Asked a girl out after meeting at a bar, she’s not free this weekend — next steps?
I (26M) met a girl in a bar in Paris during a football match. I was alone there and ended up chatting with different groups of people while watching the game.
During the match, I started talking with her — she was with a group of friends. We talked casually on and off while watching the game, nothing forced, and the interaction felt good.
After the match, I was with a group of guys I had been talking to, and when they left, I went over to her group, which was still there. I asked if they were planning to watch the next match, and they said yes. I then got her Instagram, and while doing so I casually said we could grab a drink sometime — she said “sure”.
When I left, they also left right after, laughing (in a good way I think ahah). I had the impression they were waiting for me to approach them before heading out.
The next day, I messaged her asking if she’d be up for grabbing a drink the following evening. She replied almost a full day later saying she has a friend visiting for a few days, so she doesn’t think she’s free this weekend.
She didn’t suggest another date.
I replied "okay, have fun”.
Now I’m wondering:
Should I just leave it for now?
Or is it better to try again in about a week?
