Is the Eve outdoor cam as bad as the reviews I’m reading?

I’m replacing nest outdoor cams and have apple home now, was looking at cams that obviously work with HomeKit but liked the idea perhaps of ones like Eve that are built solely for HomeKit.

I’m not really arsed about fancy features, just something that’ll stay connected, do as it’s meant to do and works nice with Apple.

Hi

I’m building my Apple Home and replacing old Google tech.

Been looking at outdoor security cams that work well with HomeKit. I’ve looked at the likes of Eve and Logitech but the reviews are a mixed bag at best.

I’ve then come to Aqara. The G100 and G5 Pro is know are very different in features etc but is there REALLY a difference vs the cost?

I’ll be using everything Apple Home, so 1080p yes and you know what I’m good with that for now, meets my needs. These cams are going to be one our the front watching the driveway which is about 20 feet away and one out the back looking over the garden, nothing special.

I’m U.K. based. If that matters.

Thanks.

Hey everyone

I’m U.K. based, long time user of Nest wifi for the last 6 years. I’m moving away from Google, as my family and I are heavily into Apple ecosystem for our personal devices, so I’ve been building my Apple Home.

I’m looking to change out my WiFi system. Currently as mentioned above, I have Google Nest system, main router downstairs, a point in two of the three beds upstairs. We live in a new build semi. We have gigabit fibre.

Ideally, I was looking for a system that not only plays nice with Apple Home but could actually be added to and managed to some degree in the app itself, not even sure if that’s possible? Be nice though.

Just would like some info and advice please, user experiences with similar residential set ups. I’ve seen Eero mentioned but I’m kinda concerned cos it’s Amazon and they use data etc, I dunno maybe I’m being a bit too cautious. I’ve also seen the ASUS systems and TP-Link etc, all very overwhelming now.

Would love to hear people’s views and experiences here please.

Cheers.

Hi everyone

I’m needing some advice please

I’m U.K. based and currently have indoor and outdoor security cams, Nest outdoors and Tapo C125’s indoors.

Been reading a lot lately about Tapo, their servers, Chinese govt involvement, all down the rabbit hole stuff.

Long story short, I want to use HomeKit to its full privacy advantage and have things handled locally. I am very much aware of how the Eve cams operate and that’s exactly what I’m looking for. I’m not arsed about fancy features and gimmicks, privacy is my number one priority with the cams.

Has anyone any feedback good or bad on the Eve products, preferably from uk based users?

Also, what other good firms are there like Eve adopting this same secure approach of data handling?

Thanks.

Hi all, first time poster here.

Couple of questions.

Does anyone have any experience, good or bad, with the outdoor camera?

Also, does anyone know if the new outdoor camera original with the 2k rez, has HKSV. It doesn’t stipulate on the website as far as I can see.

Thanks.
