Thermostat fall short for now at last

I just wanted to point this out for people because some people might have competitor thermostats like ecobee’s, etc. Just as a heads up with the new Arara thermostat you can only use one sensor per comfort setting you cannot use multiple sensors. So for example, if you set your central error to 70° and you wanna use your kitchen and living room sensors ect , you cannot do that. You can only use one. This is definitely a fall short on the Aqara side and hopefully they fix it in the near future with software. With my ecobee, I use multiple sensors to control my daytime heat and AC so it doesn’t go on when it doesn’t need to. Definitely a plus using multiple sensors. Unfortunately I won’t be keeping this on the wall until this is fixed. Put my ecobee premium back up.

Great option with the flexibility of Thread & Zigbee support. I also managed to get it into Home Assistant after the video.

Aqara FP300 connected via Z2M will randomly stop responding/sending updates

Hi,

I have an Aqara FP300 and it seems to randomly stop responding/sending updates through z2m sometimes. I have a Hue Tap Dial Switch also connected to z2m and it works perfectly.

But the z2m stops showing anything it’s “Recent activity” section and won’t let me change any settings when this happens. It did give an error message but I forgot to to copy it last time it happened. So I’ll have to try and get that next time it occurs. But when the issue does occur then as soon as I press the button on the fp300 it starts working with z2m again. So trying to figure out why it’s doing this because at the moment a presence sensor that stops sending data is pointless lol.

Z2M shows the FP300 with an LQI of 212. The coordinator I’m using is an SMLight SLZB-Ultima 3. It’s connected to my system that runs the HA OS over Ethernet networking.

Daisy chain power for u200

Hi. I have a g410 hardwired using wired and getting the u200 at some point. Wonder if I can power the keypad in a daisy chain from the g410 as I don’t want to run it from battery power. Cheers in advance.

U400, everything works except bluetooth pairing to the aqara app

Everything is working except I cannot add my lock to the Aqara home app. I have it working with apple home as well as home assistant using an appletv gen 3 for matter/thread connectivity. The U400 is my only Aqara device (no hub) and the Apple TV is my only other matter/thread device.

I started by setting up apple home first as indicated on the Aqara forums, that worked. Then I tried to add it to my Aqara app using the magic code, it knows it is a u400 but it never connects. I added the u400 to home assistant and that also works fine. I can control as well as see status changes in apple home and home assistant and I am able to add users/codes via apple home as well as via home assistant.

But I cannot get the thing added to the Aqara app via bluetooth. Just at idle, not actively or recently trying to pair it, I see the U400 in my bluetooth devices in settings on my iPhone and it is listed as Connected. When I click on the info icon it says "To manage settings for your Home Key, go to the Wallet app" which leads me to believe perhaps apple home is connected to the lock via bluetooth and that is somehow preventing the Aqara app from connecting.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'm don't know that I'm missing much by not having it in the Aqara app and if my suspicion is correct that I won't be able to use the app via bluetooth as well as apple home with express key and uwb at the same time without an Aqara hub I'll know to stop messing around.

Thanks

Door sensor + u100

I already have my u100 (hopefully my wife lets me get the u400 soon) and it USUALLY works well but occasionally the lock won’t auto lock when closed, and other times it’ll lock before the door fully closed, as well as locking when my door gets tapped while it’s open. I was wondering if getting a door sensor would help with the accuracy engaging the lock when closed. Or is it redundant and overkill?

Connection Issues - Shouldn't be this hard....

Ok... hopefully folks here have been there, done that and have some advice. I have a new u400 door lock. I installed it and seemed to be working ok, locked/unlocked via the app without issue. I added it to Alexa and it seemed ok. Next week I bought an M200 hub, so I get full functionality and can add it to home assistant.

Installed the hub (hard wire), added it to the Aqara app, updated firmware, everything seems good there.

I can't seem to get the actually lock paired directly with the hub though - when I go into the hub on the app, and look at child devices, there are none. I also can't see the lock in HA - I can see the hub, not the lock.

In the Aqara app I see the hub as one card, and the lock as one card - but I think it's supposed to be a child device of the hub, so it's then exposed to HA?

I removed it from apple home and Alexa, and reset everything, going through the steps again (I didn't remove the hub itself) but I get the same result (can't add it as a child device).

Anyone else having the same issue and got it working (or am I completely off base)?

TIA!
