IKEA furniture is now too expensive for what you get.

We're going shopping to furnish 3 kids' rooms (my nieces and nephew). Everyone said "go to IKEA, they're cheap!" No, they really aren't anymore. I am looking at storage cabinets that cost $299-$799 for laminate or particle board flat pack furniture and up $1000 for a simple wardrobe. I used to love IKEA and admittedly haven't shopped there in a while but their prices are now close to the price of some hardwood already assembled furniture.

IKEA used to be the cheaper option (outside of thrifting). They used to make up a lot of first apartment starter packs. They still have some cheap stuff don't get me wrong. Their accessories and home stuff are still well priced and the Billy bookcases still reign supreme but just a bit disappointing to see such high prices overall.

Edit: Some people seem really hung up on me saying IKEA is expensive. I will copy another response I made:

>I said IKEA was getting expensive "for what you get." That is not the same as saying it's expensive overall. I don't shop at Shein but saying the same polyester dress from Shein that used to be $30 and is now being sold for $50 is expensive for what you get is not the same thing as saying a $50 dress is expensive. IKEA can be expensive for what you get while still being a lower price than other stores. Not everything they sell but just in general. The distinction is important.

My sister and her husband just moved to be closer to home (our mom). The previous owners originally designed this room as a nursery. The entire room is pink. Light pink walls, pink carpet, and these ceiling tiles that are also a really light pink color. My sister hates this ceiling but my niece saw it already and is completely in love. This is the first room she's not sharing with a sibling so she's allowed to decorate how she wants and my sister doesn't want to take away from that joy.

Not gonna lie, unlike my sister, I kind of like the tiles themselves, but it's a bit frustrating that they didn't take the time to line up the tile and match the patterns. We think maybe it was a DIY job.

Sorry if this is the wrong sub for this question but was hoping someone could help confirm if this is right. I ripped my music collection a long time ago but they were all MP3s at the time to save space. In the last few years I've gone back heavily to listening to my own collected music library so I decided to go back and rip my old cds in a lossless format.

I rip my music using MediaMonkey. I leave everything standard during the ripping process. I just wanted to make sure I am getting the best quality possible. The songs are still 44.1khz sample rate and 16 bit depth after rip. Is the bitrate pretty much meaningless at that point? Just curious as some songs go from 1411 bitrate when just playing the music directly off the cd to as low as 530 after ripping. The tracks are still FLAC and there's no audible drop in quality that I can hear but wanted to be more informed.

So my mom's Verizon wifi router stopped working. Found out from Verizon she had an old one anyway that is no longer supported and they offered to send her the new one but it would be $18 (plus tax) monthly rental. The old one she had was apparently $14 (plus tax) monthly and she had been paying for over 5 years for a device that is worth less than $100. So I decided to get her a 3rd party router paid for outright.

The problem is that a majority of modern wifi routers no longer have a coax LAN connection and apparently without that, if you have Fios TV (using the set-top boxes) in addition to the Wireless, then info widget/guide will stop working. My mom really likes the idea of the one time payment for the router and does not want to go back to renting a router from Verizon.

Is there an alternative way to get the info guide working? Or is there an alternative way to view the guide? Like through an app or website? She has an iPad she uses so if she can access the guide that way, she'll make it work.
