Handed a monkey a sword and expected it not to hurt you Indian Laws are biasedly favours women and now they are weaponizing them against men

Laws should protect the innocent, not favor one gender over another. Justice stops being justice when rights, punishments, and assumptions depend on whether someone is a man or a woman. Equal laws create accountability for everyone, reduce misuse, and build trust in society. A fair legal system should punish the guilty and protect the innocent equally regardless of gender.

Is demanding a share in ancestral land justified even after taking dowry worth crores?

Hey, so I’m writing here for the first time and my hands are literally shaking. I don’t even know if men are allowed to post here or not.

But I wanted to talk about the dowry scene.

Recently, in November, my cousin got married within the same community. Both families are from wealthy landlord backgrounds. My cousin’s side gave around ₹2 crore in cash, a Scorpio, and a 500-gaj plot in Faridabad worth maybe ₹7+ crore, along with a huge amount of gold. Probably ₹3+ crore or more in dowry.

The surprising part is that it was a love marriage. Within same caste (both are jaats)

Both of them are highly educated too. I can’t mention where they work exactly, but both are government doctors.

People in the family kept saying it was normal because it was considered her share in the property. And honestly, I’ve personally seen weddings where ₹6-7 crore in cash and gold worth ₹4-5 crore were given.

But now the problem is that her in-laws are pressuring and emotionally blackmailing the family for a share in ancestral agricultural land too. My uncle (the bride’s father) owns around 6 acres somewhere, and 1 acre there is worth more than ₹18 crore.

Now the groom’s side is kind of forcing my uncle’s family to divide the property into 3 equal shares - 2 shares for the sons and 1 for her.

I honestly don’t want to interfere in their personal matter, but after giving so much already, isn’t it wrong to keep demanding more?

What hurts more is that now even my cousin has started taking her in-laws’ side. I understand they are her family now, but it feels strange how everything changed within just 5-6 months and she suddenly turned against her own parents and brothers.

One more thing the girl’s elder brother is divorced. He had an inter-caste dowry free marriage she was a Brahmin girl from Uttarakhand.,

Within 8-9 months of marriage the girl started looking like a skeleton. They were harrassing her all the time and also demanding dowry from her family and eventually she filed for divorce.

She was sweet and a very nice person. she didn't even asked for maintenance or alimony . although It was a dowry-free marriage, but after the wedding, the entire family, including her husband, turned against her.

So because of all this, I honestly don’t feel that bad for them.

Please be respectful in the comments. I genuinely just want people’s opinions on this situation.

And one more thing the wedding itself probably cost around ₹60–80 lakhs too (not exact figures, just rough estimates).

Thank you.

BHILWARA: A 22-year-old woman was arrested in Bhilwara Wednesday for allegedly recording and circulating an obscene video of herself to frame and blackmail her husband, police said.

Bhilwara SP Dharmendra Singh said the case surfaced after a video showing the woman bathing was circulated through a fake social media account in the last week of March. The husband then filed a complaint at Gandhinagar police station, after which police registered a case under relevant sections. In his complaint, the husband alleged the video was deliberately made and circulated by his wife in collusion with her former lover to falsely implicate him and create grounds to separate from him. He said it was made to appear as though he had leaked the video and that he was threatened when he objected.

Police said the video was posted online on March 20 using a fake account created with a SIM card allegedly arranged by the woman's associate. Investigators examined social media chats between the woman and her alleged accomplice and said they indicated a premeditated plan to circulate the video and shift blame to the husband.

During interrogation, police said, the woman initially accused her husband of making the video. The alleged lover, summoned for questioning, told police the woman had tried to involve him in the conspiracy. Police said their cyber team traced the fake account's origin and found links to the woman and her associate. She was taken into custody and is being interrogated. Officials said the woman's family had earlier filed a separate complaint against the husband over alleged seizure of jewellery. Further investigation is underway.

Gender wars only create more anger, division, and misunderstanding between people. Constantly blaming or insulting an entire gender ignores the fact that every person is different. Instead of fighting online, we should focus on respect, empathy, and solving real issues fairly for everyone. Healthy conversations help society grow, while hate and generalizations only push people further apart.
