So we are going to ignore that Zayn promised us five new tracks on the deluxe and gave us only two?

During the TalkShopLive event he says at 34:44 that there will be five extra songs on the deluxe album and that they've already picked three or four out of them. But somehow we ended up with two??? Man cannot raise our hopes like that and drop it unreliably.

how'd you feel about an alt pop / indie rock album

i think a Zayn album of this genre would go hard. Think The Neighborhood, Arctic Monkeys, and Radiohead vibes. Some of the Konnakol songs are already giving hints of that so a whole album like that would be pretty interesting.

Have you heard of "Blue Dot Fever"?

Blue dot fever is a slang term used to describe a wave of concert tour cancellations caused by low ticket sales. The phrase gets its name from the sea of blue dots that represent unsold seats on ticketing platforms like Ticketmaster, visually highlighting lagging demand for live music shows.

Why Is This Happening?

Several economic and industry factors have contributed to the rise of blue dot fever: [1, 2]

  • Surging Prices: The cost of live music has skyrocketed. According to industry reports, average primary-market ticket prices have reached upwards of \(\$144\), which does not include additional fees, travel, or accommodations.
  • Market Saturation: Following the post-pandemic live music boom, the market has become heavily crowded with dozens of major acts touring at the same time.
  • Changing Consumer Habits: Faced with inflation and economic pessimism, fans are being highly selective with their discretionary spending, realizing that billions of streams do not automatically guarantee packed arenas. [1, 2, 3]

Notable Examples

High-profile artists have been forced to adjust or abandon large-scale tours due to sparse seating charts: [1, 2, 3]

  • Post Malone & Jelly Roll: Scaled back their co-headlining stadium tour by canceling about a third of their scheduled stops.
  • Meghan Trainor & Zayn: Canceled their planned US arena dates entirely.
  • Kid Cudi: Canceled select individual arena shows after publicizing that ticket sales simply weren't strong enough

Man I was so excited to see Zayn !

First and foremost I want it to be known I support whatever reason Zayn’s tour was cancelled. Especially if it was due to recent health issues. However, I’m still sad. I was supposed to see in November. I couldn’t wait to pick out an outfit and even thought about doing a meet and greet. It was on my bucket list .Not to get toooooo personal on this but I am currently trying to be on my healing journey. Part of that was getting out and doing stuff i love more. I had a journal where I wrote down things I want to manifest and one of them was seeing him in concert. Silly me 🫠😂😭

I’ve been a big Zayn fan for 10 years, and I live in Eastern Europe. As much as I feel bad about his health problems and hope he fully recovers, I just can’t wrap my head around all these cancellations, on top of the fact that he isn’t really touring in general. I can’t call it a tour if he doesn’t perform in Europe, Canada, or Asia—especially since he is half Asian.

Like, how am I supposed to feel? I’m currently on exchange in Scotland, and I had tickets for Glasgow. Thankfully, I was able to get tickets for Manchester, but I can’t imagine how upset I would’ve been if I had planned an entire trip around his show in a foreign country.

Honestly, I feel really sorry for everyone who is in that situation right now. I just needed to vent, so I’m writing this post. I bought early entrance tickets for Glasgow hoping that I was gonna get first row, now I have some sitting tickets, but I guess it is what it is

Edit: I want to mention that he is my favourite artist, I love his music very much, and my biggest dream is to see him live. And for a lot of people I think that's true, so let people be emotional about this. I hope he'll fully recover from all his health issues

The US shows were months away, they were selling well as you can see it was 75% sold before being cancelled. So the claims that he cancelled the shows because of tickets not selling is completely untrue. If the shows were still happening, they would have all sold by the time they came around. He only cancelled the US shows because he has done enough shows in North America and fans from other countries also deserve to see him!
