Hotel Company Client

There's a hotel chain (Choice) that I have personally had issues with in regards to testing, and I even found posts on here from other testers complaining about this same company being irrational. I keep saying that I'm not going to take any more of their tests, but last week really was the last time. I'll know if it's a test of theirs, because they literally use the same screener no matter what the test is about. They tried to give me a 2-star rating once with no explanation, but UserTesting said I didn't deserve it, because I articulated my thoughts well and removed it. Recently, they gave me a 3-star rating with feedback, but I know I know it's not valid, because I stated my opinion coherently. I'm an articulate person. I'm a 5-star contributor of almost 9 years, and they're the only client that has rated me low.

Tests for Chrome, yet when I open UserTesting in Chrome there are none.

What is this mess? It's getting quite annoying.

I have completed about 5 or 6 tests which are pending payment, but I logged in today to find all test history has disappeared, as if I never took a test at all. In addition, I've not received any invites for hours, which is highly unusual. Not feeling too optimistic, is this likely a ban?

I would be incredibly grateful if you could help me out. In return, I am more than happy to test your apps back! Just leave your link in the comments.

I’ve been a tester 3 months w user testing and have been consistent have a very high rating etc. For the past two days I’ve seen tests and surveys pop up on mobile and laptop and every screener you click either says sorry this test isn’t available no screener or goes right to the white dismiss box. I’m not shadow banned or anything just experiencing what I feel like are ghost tests.. I haven’t been able to get a test since Monday morning? Is this happening to anyone else??

Not sure what is up with this, but I successfully received two payments via PayPal according to the UT system. Both payments are now crossed out. It says “I did not claim the payment within a 30 day window.” I took the test on April 18th successfully. Today is May 5th.

My first issue is that obviously I am within a 30 day window. Secondly, PayPal should be considered somewhat of a private bank account… If you have been paid for a test, shouldn’t that be the end of the story? Why would UT refund a payment if it had been logged as a successful test?

Note, I have been a user testing participant in good standing for the last 10 years. I have never seen this before (though I am not a heavy user of the platform).

Weird.

I did submit a ticket so we’ll see what happens.

Anyone else experiencing this type of issue?

Why do all my “tests for this device” say this and is there anything I can do to fix it? My device is an iPhone if that matters.

Hi everyone

I’m really interested in learning user testing but I’m not sure where to start. I don’t have much practical experience yet, but I’m willing to learn and put in the effort. It would be amazing if someone can actually guide me 🥹🥹🐣

I’m testing ClipForge, a private beta web app that helps creators turn long videos into short-form clips for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts.

I’m looking for creators who already make long-form videos, podcasts, interviews, tutorials, or YouTube content.

The test is simple:

  1. Upload one video

  2. See the suggested short-form clip ideas

  3. Create/download a clip

  4. Fill a short Google Form with honest feedback

No payment or promotion required from you. I’m mainly trying to learn if the tool actually saves creators time and if the clips are useful.

If you’re interested, comment or message me and I’ll send beta access.
