Apollo Twin X Duo or Quad For Live Vox?

Does anyone know if I should get an Apollo twin x duo or quad to run vocal fx (reverb, delay, little compression) and Antares autotune for live performances? Do I even need either of these models or would the older Apollo Twin also do the job safely? Thanks!

Learning the Apollo Twin by moving it to another PC for now

The Apollo Twin is pretty amazing, to make things clear from the get-go.

However, I had to dig out the Focusrite for now on my mission critical PC (Teams for court hearings is not an option), because I need to sit down and really try and understand this hardware, Windows 11, Thunderbolt, and third party software like VB-Matrix. I hooked it up to my slightly older, non-mission critical PC to make mistakes and hopefully finally grasp it.

My biggest headache is learning routing. I applaud those that understand that stuff. Somebody successfully set up VB-Matrix and even explained to me how it worked. It did not sink in, because I wanted to reroute something later. I was completely clueless. Still, even after the routing was successful at that time, I still dealt with crackling and the occasional drop out. Apparently, that is common with some third party drivers (ASIO and whatnot).

Sorry for the very long setup. For those on Windows machines, what did/do you use to route things? How did you get around Windows wonky driver situations? Do you even use third party routing software? I am very curious.

Thank you in advance.

Did Apollo cards work on am5?

I really want to buy Apollo solo, I'm really a fan of UAD plugins, my Volt 276 works great, but I want to move to another level. My build is Ryzen 9900x + Gigabyte x870 elite ICE. They say that USB4 works with Thunderbolt, but versions on USB with amd processors do not work. How are things now? The return policy in my country is very complicated, I don't want to spend money and get nothing in the end.

Apollo x8P won’t power fully on

Have you guys ever seen this? I try to turn on my x8P and the initial lights come on, then it just quits and recycles.
Kind of like a car not turning over.

Any help here? Thanks!

Should I purchase the 6176 UA Channel Strip.

I record on logic Pro. I have the x8P and the x4 Apollo universal audio hardware. Is it worth the money to buy the 6176 channel strip. Curious what that gets me.

Apollo twin, Protools and new M5 pro work like a hot disaster! And it’s Apollo twin causing the issue

Crashing non stop, once I turn the Apollo twin off it works flawlessly. Which tells me, is the Apollo and UA problem. Will this be fixed soon? Only time will tell

Am I doing this wrong?

Mic: Sphere DLX

Audio Interface: Steingberg UR22C

DAW: Logic Pro

I bought my UA Sphere DLX months ago and have hardly touched it because it just cuts out. When I can record the vocal quality pales in comparison to my Rode NT1A. I have followed followed the getting started instructions and watched tutorials, loaded up the sphere patch into Logic Pro... I'm at frustration point. Is this cutting out this typical? Can anyone direct me to a Sphere DLX logic pro turtorial?

Help. UAD autotune realtime

Hey guys maybe someone in here can help… so I’m using an Apollo x4 for live vocal processing literally just for 2 vocal mics in input 1/2 and out of the monitor outputs.
The Antares autotune real time plugin no matter what I do whenever it locks a note it starts to warble and constantly guess what the note is.

I’ve tried changing mid channels and tried different settings nothing seems to fix it.
Different mics, different settings. Nothing.

Would Yamaha Hs3 be ok for monitoring ox box?

Hi guys,

I just bought an ox box this week, got it set up and pretty mind blowing with the sound with headphones.
I have it running in to logic which works well and had the to amp plugged into my deluxe so was just hearing a bypassed sound.
I’m thinking of getting Yamaha hs3s to listening to the sound of the ox box, would this be big enough?
I have a normal sized room but don’t want to take up too much desk space.
Thank you.

I upgraded my 13 years old iTrack Solo to a Volt 2 a few days back, and it sounds great. Very pleased with it all in all.

However, I feel like the headphone output is too loud? I have to basically have it set to around 8'o'clock the whole time. Setting to 9'o'clock is too loud, anything past that blows my ears out.

I also have this weird issue that for a very small area around 7'o'clock on the dial, if I want to turn it down more, the signal only goes to my left ear. However, if I turn it down past that (almost inaudible) it returns to stereo.

It's a bit annoying to say the least, it's like I only have a few milometers of the knob to actually play with for volume. (The only way around this is to turn down the source/master volume on my computer I guess, but doesn't that defeat the point?)

Or is this normal? The iTack Solo didn't have a dedicated headphone volume control.

Hey everyone, 👋

I own an Apollo Twin X Duo Gen 2 and I want to buy a Shure SM7B.

My question is: should I get the normal SM7B or the newer SM7dB with the built-in Cloudlifter?

I know (and most people say) the Apollo should have enough gain for the normal SM7B, but I’ve heard on some threads that when you turn the gain up a lot, it can get a bit noisy.

So I’m wondering if the SM7dB would be the better choice, because I could use less gain on the Apollo and maybe get a cleaner sound. I don’t care about the price difference tbh.

Does anyone here have experience with this setup?

Thanks in advance!

I've mostly been using Luna since I got my x8 so I haven't had to use console.. but I kind of want to get out of luna.. go back to live and logic.. do I then always have to use console if I want to use the unison in situation?

I really don't like having to flip through two different windows for something that could be in one like it is on luna..

thanks!

Playback latency - Any ideas?

Hi all, thanks for reading...

I have an X6 and a also twin acting as a monitor control and extras ins/outs. I rarely record electric guitar but tonight I recorded some via the Hi-Z and the latency on playback is quite big. I don't have any plugins in Logic on the audio track or on the Master. I am using an amp plugin in the unison slot in console.

Any ideas? I understand the apollo's are latency free... I think it must be something pretty simple but I have been reading various articles and scratching my head for the last hour...

Many thanks in advance.

Worth pointing out that until recently I had a 1073 clone and I have in the past recorded guitar through that without issue.

Yesterday, I was looking through my recommendations on YouTube, and suddenly I notice a video that was just released which was showing the standalone version of the plugin… I was confused for a sec.
So I went to UA’s website and yep - it was right there.
I don’t know why this isn’t being marketed… I even got a discount, probably because I already own all the other standalone amp plugins.
So… Cheers friends.

Hi everyone,

I’m seeking help with a persistent volume discrepancy on my Apollo Twin X Gen 2.

The Issue: When I plug my guitar into Analog 1 (Hi-Z), the real-time monitoring volume is significantly quieter and thinner than the recorded playback, even though the Console meters show a healthy signal around -10dB.

Details:

Console Setup: Channel faders are set to 0dB (Unity). No plugins.

Recording: I record into Logic Pro with Apollo as the device, the software monitoring is turned off.

Playback: When I play back the recorded file (using the same Monitor output level), the volume is much louder and more "full" than what I heard while playing.

Settings: DIM is OFF. My Monitor knob is around -30dB, but increasing it only raises both levels simultaneously, maintaining the gap.

What I've Checked:

It happens in both UAD REC and UAD MON modes.

The hardware MON LEVEL is set to 20 dBu.

My input gain seems fine, but the "perceived" loudness of the live signal just doesn't match the system playback.

Is there a specific Pan Law setting or a hidden gain stage in Console that I’m missing? How can I get my live guitar monitoring to match the fullness and volume of the playback?

Thanks in advance!
