Hi everyone,

I’m seeking help with a persistent volume discrepancy on my Apollo Twin X Gen 2.

The Issue: When I plug my guitar into Analog 1 (Hi-Z), the real-time monitoring volume is significantly quieter and thinner than the recorded playback, even though the Console meters show a healthy signal around -10dB.

Details:

Console Setup: Channel faders are set to 0dB (Unity). No plugins.

Recording: I record into Logic Pro with Apollo as the device, the software monitoring is turned off.

Playback: When I play back the recorded file (using the same Monitor output level), the volume is much louder and more "full" than what I heard while playing.

Settings: DIM is OFF. My Monitor knob is around -30dB, but increasing it only raises both levels simultaneously, maintaining the gap.

What I've Checked:

It happens in both UAD REC and UAD MON modes.

The hardware MON LEVEL is set to 20 dBu.

My input gain seems fine, but the "perceived" loudness of the live signal just doesn't match the system playback.

Is there a specific Pan Law setting or a hidden gain stage in Console that I’m missing? How can I get my live guitar monitoring to match the fullness and volume of the playback?

Thanks in advance!
