Has any one received a cancellation notice before

I was going through my rating and I came across this message, I’m not sure if this is directed towards me or a message in general. I spoke with uber support and they assured me that my account is in good standing, but again not sure if they understood my concerns.

Toronto UE ebike riders:

For the love of God can you PLEASE adhere to the traffic and bylaw laws of Toronto? I do UE on an ebike in Toronto as of April 2026 and to my astonishment, I see all the time :

Ebikes riding on the sidewalk at insane speeds.

Ebikes going well past the ebike speed limit of 32kmh, sometimes double the speed.

Ebikes running red lights.

Ebikes not stopping at stop signs.

Mopeds using bike lanes (mopeds not allowed to use bike lanes).

You guys are going to ruin it for law abiding ebike couriers like me 🤦‍♂️

It's so bad I'm actually hoping Toronto Police will start doing enforcement blitzes

Richmond BC drivers — maybe think twice about doing food delivery

Been driving around Richmond, BC for a while now, and honestly, if you’re new or thinking about switching to Uber Eats… just be aware of what you’re getting into.

Tips are almost nonexistent

Compared to other areas, tipping culture here is really weak. You can do everything right—fast pickup, polite delivery, follow instructions—and still end up with $0 tip way more often than you’d expect.

Restaurant staff attitude can be rough

Not all places, but enough of them. Some staff act like drivers are an inconvenience. Long waits, ignored at the counter, or just straight-up rude interactions.

Low pay from restaurants / orders

A lot of orders just don’t make sense financially. Base pay is low, and without tips, you’re basically driving for peanuts.

“Meet at door” = no one shows up

This happens constantly. Customer selects “meet at door,” you arrive on time, message them… and nothing. You end up waiting, calling, wasting time.

Worst case: no unit number + no show + bad rating

This one’s wild. No unit number, customer doesn’t respond, you leave it somewhere reasonable… and then get hit with a bad rating. Feels completely unfair.

Class attitude toward delivery work

You can feel it sometimes—like people look down on delivery drivers. Not everyone, but enough to notice. There’s definitely a sense from some customers that this job isn’t “respectable.”

Not saying don’t do it at all—but if you have the option, you might want to focus on rides instead of food delivery in this area.

Curious if other Richmond drivers feel the same or if I’ve just been unlucky.

Fake Uber ride

Recently I have received 4 fake uber rides. Once you accept, the pickup locations are in middle of a lake. You wait nearby, text or call passenger and no one answers back. 2 times they send their phone number to call. Tried to call it and no one picked. Reported to Uber. Still they couldn’t figure out how these scammers are exploiting. Issues reported in Waterloo region. Always with female passenger names, ride pay around $3-$4.

Uber drivers - are tips disappearing in Canada or is it just me?

I’ve been driving Uber rider trips for a little over a month the past 3 days I did 43 trips in GTA… and only one person tipped. $3.18 total. That’s it.

I’m honestly trying to understand what’s going on. Is it just bad luck, or is this becoming the norm now in Canada?

A few things I’ve been wondering:

Are riders just financially stretched right now and cutting out tips?

Do people assume the fare they pay already includes a tip?

Or has the app experience changed in a way that people don’t even think about tipping anymore?

I keep my car clean, drive safely, don’t cancel rides, and try to be polite without being over the top. So it’s a bit frustrating seeing basically zero tips across that many trips. More over the number of trips offered by Uber considerable dropped lately, though I remain in the High demands areas and have 5* rating.

Not trying to complain and this is just genuinely curious if other drivers are seeing the same trend lately. Has tipping dropped off for you too?

Earlier I used to do only Uber Eats and have a better tipping rate than for the rider trips these days.

And for riders , what’s your mindset around tipping on Uber these days?

Thank you! 🙏

Uber Eats Vancouver referral – we both get a bonus (worth it right now

Hey everyone,

I recently started doing Uber Eats again here in Vancouver and there’s currently a referral bonus for new drivers.

If you sign up using a referral link, you can get a bonus after completing your first deliveries (and I get one too). So if you were already thinking about trying it, it’s basically free extra money to start.

Here’s my referral link:

https://www.uber.com/signup/drive/deliver/?invite_code=rsnuj1c

Not sure if it works outside Canada, but it should work here in Vancouver.

Cheers!

Uber Drivers In Ottawa. Have You Experienced Demand Absolutely Plummet Since Monday, April 27 Or Is It Just Me?

I usually start around 7 or 8 pm. When I start the heat map shows some areas in red, others in orange or yellow. Demand has been fairly consistent for the past month but since Monday, April 27, the map is clear in most other areas, maybe light yellow around downtown. Have you experienced the same or is it just me having an issue with the app?

Any ideas what caused the demand to decrease like this? University exams? Sports?
